About This Pub

Ah, Jolly Topers – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening out. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick drink or a full meal. The food's a highlight too; think hearty British classics like fish and chips that hit the mark, plus some great options for vegetarians and even treats for dogs, which is such a thoughtful touch. Prices are fair, and they've got deals that make it even more appealing, like budget pints or fun events supporting causes like Pride. On the flip side, the place does have that old-school charm, but it might come across as a tad worn around the edges to some, and its location in Luton isn't exactly central for everyone. Overall, though, it's a solid choice if you're after a warm atmosphere without any pretence – I'd say give it a go for a proper pub experience that leaves you smiling.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, spirits, and pub classics on the menu – perfect for a casual catch-up or watching the game.
  • It's super dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry friend.
  • The outdoor area is a real treat on sunny days, offering a nice spot to relax with a drink.
  • Prices are spot on – affordable without skimping on quality, and they've got some tempting deals like cheap pints and special events.
Cons
  • The building has a bit of an outdated feel to it, which might not wow you if you're after something more modern.
  • It's in Luton, so depending on where you're coming from, getting there might not be the easiest, especially without a car.

Nice pub with friendly staff and a good outdoor area for when the weather is nice. They offer a full menu that's several steps up from Wetherspoons and a good selection of drinks. They even offer a menu for dogs - though I haven't tried seeing if this extends to cats. Food is always decent, sometimes excellent. Pub regulars are friendly. Never had a bad experience there and current management/staff are excellent.

Jolly Topers is a cozy, friendly pub offering classic British food and great prices. The fish and chips were delicious, and the service was quick and welcoming. Everything was spot on! It’s a great spot for a relaxed meal or a drink with friends — nothing fancy, just good food and a warm atmosphere.

Went to see the Pub as was recommended to me by one of my good friends. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t have huge expectations as it’s Luton area but to my surprise this Pub felt like completely out of everything I know about Luton. Building is little bit dated but all that disappeared once I got inside. Extremely friendly, happy and professional team lead by what I was told New Manager. Food was delicious, temperature of the steak was perfect and the overall atmosphere was just brilliant. Well done to the current team and manager. It’s a first pub in Luton that I’ll definitely come back to.

I became a fan of the Jolly Topers. There are lots of food and drinks options, I am vegetarian and their vegetarian menu is delicious. The prices are unbeatable and the most important point for me is that it is a dog friendly pub. The service is amazing, Holly is a wonderful host. Thank you for a great experience.
