About This Pub

Ah, The Painters Arms, what a lovely find in Luton! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its top-quality Guinness that's got people raving as the best they've had outside Ireland – it's like a little slice of the Emerald Isle right here in the UK. The staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, chatty, and make you feel like you're catching up with old friends, which adds such a nice touch to the whole experience. It's brilliant for social gatherings, whether it's St. Patrick's Day or just a regular Friday night, with a crowd that's always up for a laugh and some good company. On the flip side, though, their website's playing up a bit – it's not loading as it should, so you might struggle to get the latest info online before you go. And the opening hours look a tad muddled in the details, with varying times for Sundays, which could catch you out if you're planning ahead. All in all, it's a solid spot for us pub enthusiasts, offering that genuine, homely feel without the pretence, but just keep those little niggles in mind for a smoother visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The Guinness here is absolutely spot on – some folks reckon it's the best outside of Ireland, which is high praise indeed!
  • The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming; you'll feel right at home as soon as you step in, making it a proper neighbourhood gem.
  • It's a lively spot for special occasions like St. Patrick's Day, with a crowd that's always up for a good time and great vibes all around.
  • Open seven days a week, it's reliable for a casual pint or a fun night out, and the atmosphere keeps things cheerful and inviting.
Cons
  • The website seems to be having some issues – it's not loading properly, which might make it tricky to check menus or events before heading over.
  • The operating hours listed are a bit confusing with multiple entries, so it could be worth double-checking to avoid any surprises, especially on Sundays.

Have had some of the best nights in the painters. The crowd is always up for a caric and always so welcoming as soon as you walk in. The bar staff as well as the owners are some of the most lovely and friendly people you’ll meet. Go for the Guinness, stay for the new Friends

Popped in before Luton Vs. Bolton Wanderers. Best pint of Guinness outside of Ireland. Currently sat in a bar near Bolton's stadium whilst I write this review, and the Guinness just doesn't compare. Hope to be back soon when Luton and Bolton are both back in The Championship.

The best pint of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland. If you have to go to Luton I'd recommend just staying in here drinking Guinness
