About This Pub
Ah, Jolly Crispin – it's one of those classic pubs that really captures the heart of a good British local. From what I've gathered, the standout feature is the brilliant range of real ales and ciders, all at prices that won't break the bank, making it a go-to for anyone who appreciates a quality pint. The atmosphere is spot on too, with friendly staff and a cosy, historical feel from its 1820 origins that just draws you in. It's ace for dog lovers, with plenty of space outside to enjoy a drink in the fresh air, and those quiz nights sound like a right laugh to catch up with friends. On the flip side, it's a bit limited on the food front – just cobs on offer, so if you're peckish for something more substantial, you might need to head elsewhere. And honestly, some recent chats from visitors suggest the beer isn't quite hitting the mark like it used to, with a few saying it's lost that special spark, which is a pity given its strong reputation. Still, with an overall rating of 4.3, it's clear this place has a lot going for it, and I'd say it's worth popping in if you're nearby, especially for the ales, but maybe keep an eye on those recent reviews to manage expectations.

Been going for years. Don't serve food just a real ale pub with cobs. Do quiz once a fortnight in there.
Wow , how the mighty as fallen , iv not been in for a few years now and I won't be rushing to visit again , this used to be a fantastic pub with top notch beer , and now its dead , poor beer , and lost its soul ,such a shame .
One of my favourite locals. Great choice of beer & cider at decent prices.
Lovely old pub (1820) with a decent sized lounge and nice seating. Panoramic views out of the back. Great real ales and Pork scratchings. Very friendly, good service and drinks fairly priced. Recommended for all real ale enthusiast's!
