About This Pub

Ah, the Britannia Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in the Black Country. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer is where it really shines; that Bathams Best and Mild are bang on, with folks raving about how well they're kept and the great value you get for your money. It's got this warm, inviting atmosphere that's ideal for whiling away a few hours chatting with mates or reminiscing over a drink, and with such high ratings, it's no surprise it's a favourite. On the flip side, it does lean heavily into that classic pub style, so if you're hoping for a more contemporary setup or a broader selection of brews, you might find it a bit straightforward. Still, for anyone after an honest, no-fuss spot to enjoy a quality pint, it's well worth a visit – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer is absolutely spot on – Bathams Best and Mild are real highlights, served fresh and full of that authentic Black Country flavour that keeps you coming back for more.
  • It's got a warm, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Prices are a bargain; you can get a pint for around £6.70, which feels like great value compared to some other spots, especially for such quality brews.
  • With a solid 4.5 rating from plenty of happy visitors, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a good time, steeped in history and character.
Cons
  • It might come across as a bit traditional and old-school, so if you're after a more modern vibe with a wider range of drinks, it could feel a tad limited.
  • Based on a few mentions, while the beer is top-notch, some might find the selection doesn't vary much beyond the classics, which isn't ideal if you're in the mood for something different.

Bathams Best and a pint of Mild for £6.70 kept and served well. Same in a Holdens selling Bathams Best £8.85.

Great place to spend a few hours reminiscing about the past. When combined with a superb pint (or half) of bathams best then I couldn't think of anywhere better, well except the Lamp Tavern of course. Managed to catch up with an old friend visiting from down the south over the Christmas break xxx
