About This Pub
You know, when I was looking into pubs around Gloucester, Imperial Inn really caught my eye as one of those hidden treasures that surprises you once you're inside. From the reviews, it's got this warm, old-fashioned feel that's just spot on for a casual get-together – think plenty of fun and giggles with a jukebox blasting tunes and even a chance to play darts for a bit of banter. The new owners and staff sound like they're full of passion and energy, making sure everyone has a brilliant time, which is always a plus when you're out for a drink. On the downside, it doesn't look much from the outside, so you might walk right past it if you're not paying attention, and the opening times are a tad confusing, so I'd suggest checking ahead to avoid any disappointment. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a place with a great atmosphere and friendly faces, but maybe not your go-to for a full meal. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth popping in for a pint and seeing what the fuss is about – I reckon you'd have a whale of a time!

-
Friendly staff and the new owners bring brilliant energy, ensuring everyone feels right at home.

There's a great jukebox and opportunities for games like darts, which always lead to a good laugh and plenty of giggles.
-
It's a fantastic spot for enjoying a tipple and soaking up that good old-fashioned pub vibe.
Cons
-
The outside doesn't look all that inviting, so it might not catch your eye at first glance.
-
The opening hours seem a bit muddled from what I've seen, which could make planning a visit tricky.
-
Not much chat about food options, so if you're after a proper meal, you might want to look elsewhere.

Have to say from the outside doesn't look much but inside it's good old fashioned and fun, Atmosphere is lovely and everyone is welcoming. Is a place of fun and giggles, did enjoy the night and good jukebox of music, Louis walking around taking black and white photos of which you can have. The pub is bottom of Northgate Street in Gloucester..
Since first writing this review have been in a couple of times and definitely not as friendly and welcoming as before. Seems very clicky. Opening times are a bit hit and miss. Toilets could do with a revamp.
Hear being taken over and hopefully it will be better person than the last one.
Hopefully will be able to update review to a better one.
The new managers seem really nice and friendly and welcoming. Definitely an improvement on last one. Definitely cleaner in the bar. Have noticed slight increase in the price but to be expected. Ladies toilets could really do with decorating. Hand dryer still not good. Other than that really good. We will go in again.
Was nice to see a place in Gloucester City actually make an effort for VE Day 80 years. They also showed the event. Well done Imperial Inn. They holding an event next Saturday 17/05/2025 for Veterans Rugby..
new couple running the place and they bring a brilliant energy and balance to the atmosphere!
You would struggle to have nobody to play at darts there 👍🤣.
Always a good laugh in the imp 🔥
Lovely atmosphere some great moments, nice staff etc,,havent tried any food there so not marked it,,but if your looking for a tipple definitely nice people
Visited Gloucester today to see the anti violence sculpture at the Cathedral and happened upon this little gem. Ollie and Tom are very welcoming and are bursting with passion and ideas for the future of the pub. Today was the first day they opened their doors after taking over and we cannot wait to return and experience the venue once they've settled. Good luck gents!
