About This Pub
Ah, the Havelock Inn – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its warm, community feel, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or staying for the karaoke nights, which are an absolute riot with free tribute acts that get the whole place singing along. It's brilliant for sports fans too, with those massive screens inside and out, making it a go-to for game days – and they've even got family-friendly bits like a children's park, which is a nice touch if you're out with the little ones. On the flip side, it does tend to get heaving during big events, so you might end up jostling for space, and while they've got some food from stalls, it's not exactly a gourmet experience, plus prices could catch you off guard if you're watching the pennies. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a good night out in Blackburn; I'd say give it a try if you're after that classic pub charm with a bit of extra entertainment – you won't regret it!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home, always up for a chat and creating a welcoming vibe.
-
It's a top spot for entertainment, with karaoke, live music, and brilliant tribute acts like Ed Sheeran or Amy Winehouse – and the best part is, entry's free!
-
They've got brilliant setups for watching sports, including a massive outdoor screen and multi-screen TVs showing BT and Sky Sports.
-
Family-friendly touches like an outdoor children's park and events that welcome kids make it a great place for all ages.
-
Plenty of options for private functions, like their heated marquee with its own bar, perfect for parties or gatherings.
Cons
-
It can get pretty packed during events or games, which might make it a bit tricky to find a seat or enjoy some peace and quiet.
-
The price level isn't mentioned, so you might want to check if the drinks or any extras feel a tad on the steep side for your budget.
-
Food options seem limited to what's on offer from stalls, so if you're after a full meal, it might not quite hit the spot compared to places with a proper kitchen.

Visited for Newcastle v Blackburn fa cup game. Very friendly welcome from staff and locals. No problems at all with away fans (colours can be worn). They even put the log burner on for us. Plenty of street parking (free) nearby. Short walk, 15-20 minutes, to ground. Food available from stall in grounds. Landlord very friendly.
Our band SKY TIGERS played here on Saturday, what an amazing venue to play at, stage inside the marquee was an added bonus, the DJ was really helpful and we was made to feel very welcome by all the staff behind the bar and the crowd that was there enjoying the bonfire and fireworks. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
