About This Pub

Ah, the Jolly Badger – it's one of those places that feels like a trusty old mate when you're after a straightforward, family-oriented meal in Edgware. From what I've gathered, the staff can be absolute gems, all warm smiles and helpful advice, which really makes you feel at ease right from the get-go. The food's a highlight too; think juicy rotisserie chicken, grilled dishes, and that fresh salad bar that's just begging to be piled high – it's all about tucking into something satisfying without breaking the bank. And with its handy spot near the M1 and free parking, it's dead easy to swing by after a day out. On the flip side, though, service isn't always spot on; a few have mentioned it being a tad forgetful or not quite up to speed, which can leave you waiting or feeling a bit overlooked. Then there's the odd slip with the food, like undercooked bits that take the shine off an otherwise nice plate. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual catch-up or family dinner, but if you're after something a bit more polished, you might want to keep that in mind. Still, with so many positive vibes floating about, I'd say it's worth giving it a go for a relaxed evening out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are often warm and welcoming, making any visit feel like a friendly chat with mates.
  • They've got a cracking selection of food, like that mouthwatering rotisserie chicken and fresh, unlimited salad bar – perfect for a hearty meal.
  • It's super family-friendly, with options for kids and plenty to suit different tastes, including veggie and vegan dishes.
  • Convenient location near the M1 and attractions like Wembley Stadium, plus free parking makes it easy to pop in without the hassle.
  • Great value for money with deals on food, and the portions are generous enough to leave you satisfied.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit inconsistent; sometimes they don't check in enough or remember simple requests, which can dampen the experience.
  • Food quality isn't always reliable – a couple of folks mentioned undercooked items, like the rotisserie chicken, which is a shame.
  • The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable, but it might not feel all that special for a more memorable occasion.
  • While it's generally welcoming, it doesn't always go the extra mile for personal touches, like setting up a table nicely.

We came here for an early lunch before picking up the kids from school. Lots of available parking and we were greeted near the door. Seated at a nice table and our order was taken pretty quickly. Salad bar was very nice and fresh. We ordered haddock and chips and a burger. The fish was cooked perfectly and the burger was very good too. Our server, Kay, was very helpful and friendly. Definitely be returning again

The service was fast and friendly, the place looks cozy and comfortable, quite welcoming. The atmosphere was okay, I think that they had soft music in the background. I wasn't that happy with the food, I had half a rotisserie chicken for take away, and it wasn't fully cooked, it had bloody areas inside, I had to cook it further myself

We chose this restaurant for a simple yet special dinner after our proposal, requesting a small table setup—perhaps a candle or a flower. Unfortunately, there was no effort made to accommodate this. The service was underwhelming. Our server rarely checked in, struggled to remember simple requests, and took an excessive amount of time to bring us the card payment terminal. We eventually had to find another server to pay. She also seemed overwhelmed, repeatedly forgetting a request from the table next to us, delaying their meal unnecessarily. As for the food, the only highlight was the salad bar, which was well-stocked and clean, though the sauces were disorganized, with missing labels. The nachos lacked cheese, my steak was completely flavorless, and my fiancé’s grilled chicken was overly charred, overpowering any natural flavor. We had to rely on salt, pepper, and even ketchup just to make the meal somewhat enjoyable. The atmosphere was basic—not bad, but nothing memorable either. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a special evening. We won’t be returning.

Came here for a quick dinner before travelling tomorrow morning and the 50 percent food deal. Our server Christina was lovely and very helpful with choosing food options. Would recommend grows and converse for variety. Nice quiet meal, lovely staff, great food and nice evening overall.

Took my partner here as it's her first time she's been to harvester and she loved it and loved the portion sizes. Julie our server and she was very warm and welcoming and reassured us the entire time. We ordered dirty burger with dirty chips (the single was big enough) and my partner ordered the chicken skewer with honey sauce and it was all great! Thank you Julie for your amazing service and the staff at Jolly Harvester
