About This Pub

Ah, the Grosvenor – it's one of those neighbourhood gems in Hanwell that really captures the heart of community life, just a short stroll from West Ealing station. I love how it's set in this historical Edwardian building, offering a cosy spot with an open fire, a garden for sunnier days, and even wheelchair access, making it welcoming for everyone. The drinks menu is a highlight, packed with craft beers, real ales, and cracking cocktails that pair brilliantly with their daily food offerings – think hearty meals that hit the spot, especially if you're catching live sport with mates. The staff are absolute stars, always quick with a smile and efficient service, as a few folks have raved about in their visits. But, let's be straight, it's not all perfect; there have been grumbles about inconsistent food quality, like one person ending up with overcooked pork that didn't quite match the hype, and it seems things might have slipped a tad from its glory days. Still, with promotions like happy hours and deals on Tuesdays, it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – I'd say give it a go, but maybe keep expectations in check for a balanced night out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from craft beers and real ales to cocktails and wines – perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • The food is generally delicious, with plenty of options for groups, and it's served quickly which is a real bonus.
  • It's a historical spot with a versatile space, including a garden and outside area, great for enjoying live sport or just soaking up the atmosphere.
  • They're pet-friendly and have promotions like happy hours and two for Tuesdays, which add a fun touch to your visit.
Cons
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; some dishes might not live up to expectations, like overcooked meals that let down an otherwise good experience.
  • There are mentions of a possible dip in standards recently, which could mean it's not as reliable as it once was.
  • Opening times start a bit late in the day, so if you're after a morning pint, you might have to wait until the afternoon.

Had a group of us in for a meal and the service was amazing, really friendly staff and very quick to take our orders. Food was delicious and the Bloody Mary I had was probably the best I’ve had. All our servers Chris, Jess and Kayla were great. Highly recommend !

The Grosvenor is an excellent place to go for drinks and food. Pretty decent beer selection, nice change from larger chains. High quality food with a fairly wide menu. Everyone in the pub is quite welcoming and respectful.

Historically, The Grosvenor was known for its great food and service, and we had fond memories of dining there. Recently, however, several friends mentioned a decline in quality. We decided to give it a chance anyway, but unfortunately, they were right. We booked a large table for 1pm on Sunday, 1st June 2025, expecting a classic roast. When we arrived, the pub was surprisingly quiet, with only around 10 people in total. Despite this, it took so long for a staff member to take our drinks order that we ended up going to the bar ourselves. It took another 30 minutes for anyone to take our food order, only to be told 20 minutes later that most of the items we ordered were no longer available. We reluctantly changed our selections, then waited an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The delay might have been forgivable if the food had been excellent—but it was the opposite. The roast was dry, flavourless, and tasted like it had been prepared well in advance, then left to sit. Frankly, I could have made something better at home. I’ve eaten at many pubs in Ealing with fantastic food and warm, efficient service—this was sadly not one of them. Now I understand why the Grosvenor was so empty. Would not recommend.

Large group of us so we pre-ordered. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meal except me. Three of the meals ordered were roast pork. I'm not sure what happened to mine but the meat was overcooked and brittle, my wife's on the other hand was succulent and tender, nothing like what I was served. The third person also had no complaints. The desserts were very good, minor criticism on the rhubarb crumble, two out of the three orders were just crumble but the third order appeared to have to have the fruit from the other two; it was loaded. Overall it was a positive experience and I would dine there again.

Another nice little (but certainly not little) pub serving a couple of decent beers on cask (and undoubtedly some craft and macro keg). I was there late afternoon on a Saturday and it wasn't busy - but filling out by the time I left. I enjoyed watching Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal on Sky (though it wasn't the reason for my visit). Just a nice, spacious, place.
