About This Pub

Ah, The Old Hat in Ealing – what a delightful little spot it is, tucked away in West Ealing and full of that classic pub charm. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere where the walls seem to whisper stories of good times past. The live music on weekends is an absolute treat, getting everyone up and about with some cracking tunes, and it's no surprise that the food gets such high praise – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts and burgers that hit the spot without costing a fortune. The beer garden is another highlight, especially on a sunny day, offering plenty of space to chat and unwind with friends over a well-poured Guinness. On the flip side, it's a shame the cask ale choices are a bit slim, and if you're hoping for a packed events calendar, you might find it quieter than expected midweek. Still, it's managed by a team who clearly know how to make folks feel welcome, and with such solid ratings, it's easy to overlook the minor niggles. All in all, if you're after a place for a relaxed catch-up or a fun evening, this one's worth a visit – I'd say pop in and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They pour a cracking pint of Guinness and have well-priced drinks that won't break the bank.
  • The Sunday roasts and burgers are spot on – tasty, hearty pub grub that's perfect for a proper meal.
  • It's got a lovely beer garden that's spacious and ideal for soaking up the sunshine with mates.
  • The atmosphere is brilliant, especially with live music on weekends that really gets the place buzzing.
  • Overall, it's a charming spot with a great vibe, making it easy to see why it's a local favourite.
Cons
  • The selection of cask ales is a bit limited, so if that's your thing, you might not find as many options as you'd hope.
  • There don't seem to be many upcoming events listed, which could make it feel a tad quiet if you're after something more lively midweek.
  • The operating hours can be a bit confusing from what I've seen, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.

A fun gig venue at The Old Hat W13 last night. Very friendly and helpful staff, great layout, nice atmosphere, clean toilets, good food, and a great crowd to appreciate the band playing classic music with a few Christmas seasonal songs thrown in to raise people's spirits. A late finish and return home, but cosy will visit here again.

What a great looking pub - both inside and out. I enjoy the atmosphere and the music there very much. I am planning to go again for the live music evening soon. Chicken Sunday roast was fine (£15). Beef burger was better (£13). The price was extremely reasonable.

What a splendid place. The Old Hat in West Ealing is a delightful pub with two large bars and an expansive beer garden complete with a very friendly pub cat. A great range of keg beers. Only one cask ale available during my visit. Great staff and a good cold pint of lager, much enjoyed! This place is well worth a visit.
