About This Pub

Ah, Grande Cafe Bar – it's one of those hidden gems in Barnet that I've heard some good things about from folks who've popped in. The coffee really steals the show; it's top-notch and has people coming back for more, especially if you're after a solid brew to start your day. The vibe inside is just lovely, with nice decor that makes it feel welcoming and relaxed – ideal for a casual chat or even watching something on the large screen TV if you're into that. The staff are absolute stars, always ready with a smile and making everyone feel at ease, which is what makes a good pub feel like a second home. On the flip side, it's a bit of a downer that there's no food on offer yet, as the kitchen isn't up and running, so you might find yourself just sticking to beverages and wishing for a bite to go with it. And if you're in a rush for takeaway, the cups aren't the sturdiest, which could lead to a messy situation. All in all, it's worth a visit if you're nearby and fancy a decent drink in a friendly setting, but keep in mind it might not tick all the boxes just yet – still, with that 4.3 rating, there's plenty to like!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The coffee here is absolutely spot-on – several people have raved about it, making it a real highlight for a quick caffeine fix.
  • The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, with great decor that creates a cosy vibe, perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a moment alone.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home, which really adds to the charm of the place.
  • It's got a large screen TV, which could be brilliant for watching the big games or events while you sip your drink.
  • A great spot for all sorts of groups, whether you're with family, on a date, or just popping in for a quiet drink by yourself.
Cons
  • No kitchen means no food options at the moment, so it's just drinks for now, which might leave you wanting something to nibble on.
  • The takeaway cups are a bit flimsy and not the best quality, making it less ideal if you're grabbing coffee to go.
  • It seems like the place is still getting sorted, with things like the kitchen not open yet, so it might not be fully up and running.

What a sexy cafe I must say. I found it slightly odd that it doesn't have a kitchen, meaning no food whatsoever, not even nibbles. However, the staff informed me the kitchen would open in a few weeks—hooray! So, I just got a beverage. They have a large screen TV, which I imagine would be great to watch the game on. The front of the café features floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors, so the entire space opens out onto the street, which was really nice on such a pleasant, day.

Bought americano for takeaway. No sleeve to go with the cup and very flimsy takeaway coffee cups. Poor quality

I remembered that on New Years Day this year in a search for good coffee, I stumbled upon this place. Their card system was down and was taking only cash, they made me a delicious coffee and because of my lack of cash, they actually gave it to me for free. I have only just remembered this now but gesture alone was memorable.
