About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Glass Orchid – it's this charming bar in Beeston that's become a bit of a favourite around these parts. I've got to say, the food is where it really shines; whether you're tucking into their creative dishes like the cruffin or a hearty Sunday roast, everything's fresh, flavoursome, and surprisingly affordable – we managed a lovely meal for two with drinks for under £50, which felt like a steal. The team there are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which makes the whole place feel so inviting. And the location's spot on, right by the tram and near the cinema, so it's perfect for a quick stop or a full evening out. On the flip side, it's a bit of a downer that they're shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you're mid-week, you might have to plan around that. Also, while the decor's generally beautiful and clean, it didn't quite win over everyone straight away, but honestly, once you're enjoying the grub, that fades into the background. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together; I'd say give it a go if you're in Nottingham – you'll likely leave with a smile and a full belly!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch – from the creative mains and tapas to the Sunday roasts, there's something for everyone, and it's all delicious and great value for money.
  • The staff are wonderful; they're friendly, attentive, and really make you feel welcome, which adds so much to the overall experience.
  • It's beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, creating a lovely atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed meal or a few drinks.
  • Convenient location right in Beeston Square, near the tram stop and the cinema, making it easy to pop in before or after an outing.
  • They've got a great selection of drinks, from premium beers and wines to cocktails, and even some complimentary treats on special occasions like Valentine's Day.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which can be a bit of a shame if you're planning a mid-week visit and fancy a bite or a drink.
  • The decor might not click with everyone at first glance, as one person mentioned it wasn't quite their thing, though the food more than makes up for it.
  • Opening hours can vary a tad, especially on Sundays, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any disappointment if you're set on going then.

Three visits and all have been impeccable. Great quality food, value for money, beautifully decorated and clean restaurant, staff are wonderful. We’ve tried the main menu, the tapas menu and the Sunday roast. Great selection on the menu, there is something for everyone. Kitchen team is happy to clarify/accommodate any requests, where possible which is lovely. Great cocktail selection too, currently 2 for £15. I would highly recommend a visit to The Glass Orchid. We can’t wait to come back soon!

Let me introduce you to the cruffin. This meaty, oozy, light, flaky, baby of a muffin and a croissant. The extra £1 for this magnificent delight, clearly made with love, was well worth it compared to the big breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and worth the little extra for the quality of products. Will definitely come back. 🤤🤤🤤🤤

Went here for Valentine’s Day and the food was good and the service was great. Wasn’t crowded like most places on Valentine’s. We were given two complimentary drinks (I believe due to the Valentine’s booking). Spent under £50 for two mains, two sides, and two cocktails. Right across from the tram and bus stop so easy commute. Definitely will eat here again!

A lovely birthday meal for my sister at the Glass Orchid! We weren’t initially sold on the decor but the food was truly incredible. Every dish was well thought out and creative, great quality and delicious flavour - the prawns, the slaw and the ‘Grandads sandwich’ were standout for us but everything (including dessert) was wonderful. They even brought a surprise dessert for the birthday girl which was a nice touch. Only criticism is that it would be nice if they opened and poured the wine for us rather than leaving the bottle on the table. Overall a great meal!
