About This Pub

Ah, Furzton Lake—it's one of those places that really captures the essence of a good British pub, wouldn't you say? Tucked away by the lake in Milton Keynes, it's got this inviting vibe where you can kick back in the beer garden with a refreshing drink and soak in the stunning surroundings. I love how they've kept things affordable, with those tempting £10 deals on selected dishes that make it ideal for a casual midweek catch-up or a family meal. From what I've gathered, the service is generally warm and efficient, with staff going the extra mile to sort out better deals or swap out meals if needed, just like in Alex's experience. And it's packed with thoughtful touches, like family-friendly features and easy parking, which add to the overall appeal. But, on the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing—I've heard a few tales of food that didn't quite hit the mark, such as dry chicken skewers or beef that lacked flavour, which could put a damper on things. Plus, there are moments when service slips, like struggling to get a high chair sorted, as Clare found out. Still, with a solid average rating, it's clear that most people have a whale of a time here, and I'd reckon it's worth a visit if you're in the area—just keep those little quirks in mind for a balanced outing.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The stunning lakeside location is an absolute treat—imagine sipping a drink while gazing out over the water, perfect for unwinding after a long day.
  • Prices are really wallet-friendly, with deals like the £10 specials making it easy to enjoy a hearty meal without breaking the bank.
  • Service is often spot-on, with staff being quick, polite, and helpful, as several folks have shared in their experiences.
  • It's family-oriented with handy facilities like outdoor play areas and disabled access, making it a welcoming spot for all sorts of groups.
  • The atmosphere is generally peaceful and relaxed, especially in the beer garden, and they've got perks like free parking and EV charging.
Cons
  • Some food items can fall short, like overly tough chicken or bland beef, which might leave you a bit disappointed after a promising start.
  • Service isn't always flawless—there have been times when simple requests, such as getting a high chair, got overlooked, leading to a bit of frustration.
  • They've mentioned limited seating on their site, so it might be wise to book ahead if you're planning a visit, especially on busier days.
  • While the menu sounds endless and appealing, not every dish lives up to the hype, so you might have to play it safe with your choices.

Had a lovely time with my mum and daughter, food was amazing and service was great and everyone was so lovely the only thing I would say was we wasn't told about the time frame on pudding so didn't get pudding this time around but will remember for another time. Craig was very polite and was a happy to help waiter, Thank you 😊

Greg and the others provided a great service and I was guided to a better deal combo for my food. The food was well portioned and tasty. Quick to serve. Will be back. Peaceful pub set over a beautiful lake. Ample free parking with EV chargers should you require it.

Great service from Ben. Southern-fried chicken skewers were really hard and dry. They were swapped for normal chicken skewers, which were nice.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced but the service wasn't great. Asked 3 different members of staff for a high chair and still didn't get one, so in the end we gave up and sat toddler on an adult chair.
