About This Pub
Ah, The Dolphin – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Milton Keynes. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's a family-run spot that's all about that traditional English hospitality, with a dog-friendly policy that makes it even more inviting for a casual afternoon out. The food's a real highlight; folks are raving about the Sunday carvery and the new breakfast offerings, saying it's hearty, tasty, and just what you need after a long week. Prices are fair too, so you won't feel short-changed when you're tucking into a meal or grabbing a pint. They've got this great function room for bigger dos like parties or even wakes, and the live music and games add a fun twist to evenings. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no clear info on opening times, which might leave you hanging if you're trying to drop in spontaneously. And being out in Bletchley, it might not suit everyone if you're coming from further afield. Overall, though, the positive vibes from the reviews – with that solid 4.4 rating – show it's a place worth checking out for a good laugh and a decent bite, as long as you plan ahead a tad.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The Dolphin has a really warm, family-run vibe that's perfect for a relaxed get-together with mates or the whole family, and they're even dog-friendly which is brilliant for us pet owners.
-
Their traditional English food is spot on, especially that Sunday carvery – reviewers rave about it being the best in Milton Keynes, with delicious, hot meals and plenty of choices.
-
Prices are nice and reasonable, so you can enjoy a good pint or a meal without breaking the bank, making it a great spot for everyday visits.
-
They've got a fantastic function room for up to 100 people, ideal for birthdays or wakes, plus live entertainment like karaoke and darts to keep things lively.
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and go the extra mile, like providing nibbles or flowers for events, which really adds to the homely feel.
Cons
-
There aren't any specific operating hours listed, which could make it a bit of a faff to plan a visit and might mean missing out if it's unexpectedly closed.
-
It's tucked away in Bletchley, so if you're not local to Milton Keynes, it might not be the easiest place to pop into for a quick one.
-
While the reviews are mostly glowing, a couple mention not sampling the food, so it could vary depending on what you're after – though that hasn't put anyone off much.

A lovely pub with good beer and what appeared to be an excellent food offering, albeit I didn't eat on this occasion.
A lovely inviting atmosphere good food and clean friendly outlook
Dolphin Carvary best in MK I think . Just opened up Dolly's other bar for Breakfasts Sandwiches rolls cakes coffee etc from 6 am. Went other morning just to have a look had a breakfast roll and a coffee will be going back for full fry up.
Great pub. Had a few beers here before MK Vs Mansfield. Bar owner put some nibbles on for us. Chicken wings, Chips and Onion wings, fair play. Great place. Thanks. :)
First time for the carvery and we weren’t disappointed. Food was really delicious, hot and a really good choice of meats and vegetables. Very friendly service from all the staff. We will be visiting again.
