About This Pub

You know, I had a lovely time at the Clocktower in Milton Keynes the other day, and I reckon it's a cracking spot for a relaxed evening with mates. The food really shines – think delicious chicken katsu, wings, and burgers that are spot on and won't set you back much, which is always a win in my book. The staff are dead helpful and make you feel welcome straight away, and it's nice to see it's pet-friendly for those who want to bring their four-legged pals along. Plus, with live sports and a beer garden, it's got that proper pub atmosphere that gets you in the mood for a good chat and a pint. On the flip side, though, they do stop serving food a bit early, so if you're out late, you might miss out on tucking into something. And while it's reliable and enjoyable, it doesn't quite reach those wow-factor heights for the food – more of a solid choice than a standout one. All in all, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for the value and the buzz, but just keep those timings in mind to make the most of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is consistently tasty and hits the spot, with standouts like the chicken katsu, wings, and build-your-own burgers that keep you coming back for more.
  • It's brilliant value for money – affordable prices mean you get a proper meal without breaking the bank, making it ideal for a casual night out.
  • The staff are really welcoming and efficient, always ready with a smile and quick service that makes you feel right at home.
  • It's pet-friendly, so you can pop in with your dog for a relaxed pint and some grub.
  • A lively atmosphere with live sports on the screens and a beer garden, perfect for catching the big games or enjoying a sunny afternoon.
Cons
  • They finish serving food quite early, which can put a dampener on things if you're planning a late evening meal.
  • While the food's good, it might not be the most memorable or top-tier experience you've ever had, more reliable than extraordinary.
  • The location in Emerson Valley might not be the most convenient for everyone, especially if you're not local to Milton Keynes.

have been dinner here many times, food is always good, chicken katsu and their wings are one of the best! In general a great place for dinner and also pet-friendly

1st time I had been here. Will definitely be going back. One lady serving on the day, but she was very efficient and made you feel welcome. Food came quickly, and it was nice and hot and delicious. And watching other meals that came out on the day, I want to go back just to try something different. The pub itself was a little dated and obviously had locals. But it was clean, and you were given just the right amount of attention to make you feel welcome.

I’d rate this place a 3.5 out of 5 based on the following factors: Price & Value for Money – 5/5 The pricing is absolutely superb—affordable yet offering good quality for what you pay. While it may not be the best meal you’ll ever have, it delivers excellent value. For example, £6 for fish and chips on a Friday, £6.19 for a jacket potato, £9 for a steak and ale pie, or two meals for around £12 is incredibly reasonable. The pricing is definitely on point. Food Quality – 3/5 The food itself was decent—tasty but nothing exceptional. It didn’t seem particularly fresh, likely cooked from frozen and possibly reheated in a microwave. That said, it was no worse than similar budget-friendly pub chains like Wetherspoons. Service – 4/5 The service was good, though not outstanding. The staff member who served me was polite, efficient, and attentive to my needs, making for a positive experience overall. Atmosphere – 3/5 When I arrived around 3 PM, the pub initially felt a bit lifeless. As time went on, it got busier, improving the atmosphere slightly. However, even when more people arrived, the noise levels became overwhelming, making it difficult to have a conversation. Facilities – 3/5 The gents’ toilets were clean, but the hot water tap didn’t work, which was disappointing. Final Score: • Price & Value for Money: 5/5 • Food Quality: 3/5 • Service: 4/5 • Atmosphere: 3/5 • Facilities: 3/5 Total: 18/25 → 3.6/5 (rounded to 3.5/5) Overall, this place offers excellent value for money with reasonable food and decent service. However, the atmosphere and facilities could use some improvement.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and are never disappointed with the build your own burger! It is always absolutely delicious. The fries are always hot and the perfect texture. I love their onion rings, they're the best I've ever had. The Jamaica sauce, I can't quite remember what it was called exactly, on the chicken wings is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable as well!

Absolutely great. Bar staff was very kind and outgoing to help with everything. The food is a great price. Really enjoyed. They finish serving food VERY early so we won't be able to go again as they are not that local. Thank you! Top marks and also love the music and darts!
