About This Pub

Ah, the Friendship Inn – it's one of those pubs that just makes you feel at home the moment you walk in, with its fabulous building, cosy snug bar, and that impressive wood-panelled bar at the centre. I've heard from folks who've been there that the staff are absolute stars, always going the extra mile with friendly service and making sure everything's just right, like when they checked in on a group's meal or helped out with a special request. The beers are a highlight; you can dive into a range of Joseph Holt's award-winners or try something from their bottled selection, and pair it with a delicious meal – think hearty pies, fresh fish and chips, or even vegan dishes if you're after something lighter. It's got that family feel, with options for kids and dogs welcome, plus the beer garden is perfect for sunnier days. On the flip side, though, the kitchen closes at 8 PM, which could leave you a bit stuck if you're out late, and it does get lively during quizzes or matches, so it might not be the quietest spot if you're after a peaceful chat. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub goers in Manchester – affordable, entertaining, and with a great community spirit, but just keep an eye on the timings to make the most of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is just lovely – it's warm, welcoming, and feels like a proper cosy spot for catching up with mates or family.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of award-winning beers, lagers, cask ales, and even a cracking gin and rum menu to keep things interesting.
  • The food is spot on, with a wide range of pub classics, vegan options, and a kids' menu, all served up tasty and affordable.
  • It's brilliant for entertainment, with Sky and BT sports on the telly, weekly quizzes, and live music that really gets the vibe going.
  • Plenty of space outside in the beer garden, and it's super family-friendly and dog-friendly, making it easy for everyone to join in.
Cons
  • Food service wraps up at 8 PM, which might feel a tad early if you're planning a late-night bite after a few pints.
  • It can get a bit busy during events or peak times, so you might have to wait for a table or a spot in the bar.

Would like to take this opportunity to say ' Thank You' to the Friendship Inn because, a few weeks before a Christmas I emailed a few hotel/restaurants/ some of them big places and close by. I sent the same message to each one asking if it was possible to book in for a Christmas dinner. I was alone and didn’t want to put on any family members. i have recently lost both parents and a brother within two year and my 16 year old dog. The replys I got said “ sorry no, we are full” I was going to give up emailing places because I already felt a bit scared about sitting alone in a place with many people in them having Christmas dinners but then I got a reply from the Friendship Inn, a phone call from a lady she was lovely, she said they would fit me in and make sure I had a lovely Christmas dinner. Aww it just was so nice that they wanted to help me after suffering so much loss and pain, it was nice they said yes you can come, and its okay that you are alone! I was going to pay a deposit but when I told my sister who is older than me what I was doing she told me I must go to hers for Christmas dinner, so I rang the Friendship Inn explained and thanked them. But honest I want to say thank you it was a really kind to say yes to me. Thank you so much for ringing me and just being nice. Sincerely Elizabeth.

It's a great pub. All 10 of our group enjoyed the lovely service from the staff. Noting was too much trouble. And to boot was very tasty with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I would go back if I am in the area. I opted for the beef pie, served with a gravy boat ,chips & garden peas. This is a Joseph's Holts pub. If you hop on the website, you will find something to tickle your tastbudds.

Proper pub. Really friendly and helpful staff. Great deals on food and drink. OH said it was best fish, chips and mushy peas they'd had since we moved to Prestwich 2 years ago. Will most definitely be going back.

Came on a Monday, and there was a buy one free one offer on Mondays! So it was super worth it for us. The portion was large and the taste was good. The staff were approachable and friendly and even asked us whether the food was alright afterwards! Overall a great experience for you to bring family and friends over!
