About This Pub

Ah, Frankies – what a delightful spot it is, tucked away in Chester's bustling centre. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the team there really know how to make you feel at home; they're quick with a smile and even throw in little treats like complimentary nachos, which just adds to the charm. The drinks menu is a winner, with plenty of continental options and cocktails that pair nicely with their food offerings – think tasty halloumi burgers or vegan specials that cater to all tastes. Weekends bring live music and a lively atmosphere that keeps things entertaining without being overwhelming. On the downside, though, the opening times seem a tad inconsistent, with some listings suggesting early closes that might disappoint if you're hoping for a late-night session. And while it's got stellar ratings, the low number of reviews means it might not be the first place that springs to mind for a night out. All in all, if you're in Chester and fancy a cosy, welcoming bar with good grub and drinks, I'd say give Frankies a go – it's got that feel-good factor that makes you want to return, but just keep an eye on those hours to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff at Frankies are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, welcoming, and go the extra mile, like offering free nibbles or tailoring options for vegans.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of continental beers, wines, and cocktails, plus some tasty food choices like halloumi burgers that hit the spot.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely; it's cosy and intimate, perfect for a relaxed catch-up, with live music and entertainment on weekends that really livens things up.
  • It's family-friendly and feels safe, making it a great spot for all ages, and the central location in Chester means it's easy to pop in after exploring the area.
Cons
  • The operating hours can be a bit confusing with varying schedules listed, and it might close earlier than you'd expect for a bar, potentially cutting evenings short.
  • With only around 31 reviews so far, it doesn't seem to be on everyone's radar yet, so you might not know what to expect if you're new to the place.
  • Prices aren't specified anywhere, which could mean it's a surprise at the till – always worth checking to avoid any sticker shock.
