About This Pub
Ah, Bishop Lloyd's – what a lovely find in the midst of Chester's hustle and bustle. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's one of those places that just warms your cockles with its welcoming staff and that cosy, unique setting upstairs, where you can settle in with a pint or a gin and tonic and soak up the street vibes from the outdoor benches. The drinks are spot on, with mentions of great beers, ciders, and even a baby Guinness that sounds like a must-try, and the food doesn't disappoint either – those meat pies and cheese boards come highly recommended and at a price that won't break the bank. It's independently run, which gives it that authentic feel, and folks seem to love popping in for a relaxed chat or a quick bite. On the flip side, though, it's only open four days a week, so you might have to plan around that, and without a website or phone number, it's a tad tricky to get the lowdown in advance. All in all, if you're in Chester and after a proper pub experience with good grub and a friendly crowd, I'd say give it a go – it's got that heartwarming charm that makes you want to come back, but just keep an eye on those opening times to avoid any disappointment.
Pros and Cons

-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from cracking beers and ciders to gins and tonics that hit the spot.
-
The food is spot on – think delicious meat pies and cheese boards that are both tasty and great value, like that pie and pint for just £10.
-
It's got a lovely cosy atmosphere with outdoor benches upstairs, perfect for people-watching in the heart of Chester while you sip your drink.
-
As an independently run spot, it has a unique charm that makes it a real gem for anyone visiting the area.
Cons
-
It only opens four days a week, which can be a bit limiting if you're planning a spontaneous trip or fancy a drink on a quiet day.
-
There's no website or phone number available, so it's not always easy to check the exact hours or get in touch beforehand.
-
With just 21 reviews in total, it might fly under the radar compared to busier spots, so you could miss out if you're not in the know.

Five stars! This pub is upstairs, so you can sit on the outdoor benches and people watch while you enjoy a drink and a bite. Beer, wine and a full bar. And do yourself a favor and order the meat pie. Delicious! The staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend!
Where do I start....
On our stay in Chester, we visited this bar both nights.
Staff very attentive and welcoming, cosy and lovely setting both inside and outside. The outdoor space, allows you to take in the atmosphere in the streets whilst enjoying a lovely drink with view.
Myself and my husband were both given a takeaway cheese selection and one of the Pies.
The cheese selection was amazing and the added extras very thoughtful. The Pie he's saving to warm up when home LOL
I would definitely recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.
The lady who runs the bar, apologies forgot your name. Thanks for making us feel welcome.
We will definitely visit again.

All the staff were kind and friendly and welcoming
I'll always pop in here for a pie and a pint (£10-wow) whenever I'm in this part of the country.
Most certainly worth a visit if you're in Chester
An amazing independently run bar that has a a unique and cosy setting. Great selection of drinks (I’d recommend the gin & tonic followed by a baby Guinness ) and a relaxed atmosphere make this a well worth a visit.
