About This Pub

So, I was thinking about our last pub crawl, and Foxhut Bar & Kitchen really stands out as that reliable local in Leicester for a relaxed evening. It's got this warm, buzzing feel that's ideal if you're popping in after a match or just for a casual drink – the crowd's always decent, and playing a game of pool with a cold beer in hand makes for a proper good time. The bar team are usually bang on, chatting away and making sure everyone's sorted, and when the drinks and food are firing on all cylinders, like those tasty cocktails or well-recommended meals, it's an absolute winner. But, let's be honest, it's not perfect; there are moments when service drags, even if the place isn't packed, and a few folks have mentioned the food can be a letdown with too much sauce overpowering everything. Still, for what it's worth, I'd say it's worth giving it a go if you're nearby – just keep an eye on the menu prices and maybe skip it if you're in a rush. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat, with the highs outweighing the lows for most.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking atmosphere, perfect for a post-rugby catch-up or just enjoying a few beers with mates.
  • The drinks selection is spot on, with decent beers and some standout cocktails like those amazing Pina Coladas.
  • When the food hits the mark, it's truly brilliant – think amazing dishes that leave you wanting more.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit unreliable at times, like when it's quiet and you're still left waiting around.
  • Some food options fall short, with complaints about things being overly sauced and not tasting great.
  • Prices might feel a tad steep for what you get, which could put a dent in the fun if you're not expecting it.

Bad service and food. Went for lunch and food was bad. Place was empty and still gave bad service. An old chap walked out as he couldn't get served. The staff were nowhere to be seen. He left with a loud comment. Food was pumped full of sauce in sandwich and burger. All we could taste was sauce! Saw the guy run out with a shopping bag to go buy some more food as they didnt have the ingredients. Gave dairylee cheese instead of proper cheese as they bought the wrong one 🤣 joke! So my cheese and onion cob was onions with a thin slice of dairylee cheese. Really bad trained staff... wondered why it was so empty for lunch!!

After driving by this pub everyday I seen the sign for bottomless hot drink with breakfast. Upon entry I was the only customer in the building and there was 1 member of staff, who I must admit was very polite. My biggest issue was the price £12 (should have read the menu first as if I did I would have walked out but I knew that's what I wanted) for a full English is extortionate, to which I told the server, I haven't been for a more expensive breakfast in the county!! After the initial shock of the price I expected big things for the price i.e. food quantity and quality, however I was mightely disappointed. 3 bacon, 3 eggs, 2 toast, mushrooms, beans and half a tomato is not a large Full English, missing items black pudding hashbrowns or some sort of potato and potentially some bread and butter. Also the bottomless hot drink was a pain as I had to keep asking for another as there were no tea making facilities with the coffee urn. The quality of the food was poor, cheap meat and over cooked and tbh if the price was in relation to the food I would have been happy paying around £7 for what I got and in comparison to other business selling the same product in the surrounding area. All in all I would not be visting this place again due to the above commemts
