About This Pub
Ah, the Grand Union in Leicester is one of those pubs that really knows how to make you feel welcome, isn't it? From the reviews, it's clear folks love the buzzing atmosphere – think a smart setup that's ideal for pre-match drinks or just catching up with mates. The food comes in for high praise too; it's excellent without breaking the bank, and the service is spot on, with the team going above and beyond for events or a quick visit. They've got fun extras like open mic nights that add a bit of sparkle to the evening, and the outdoor space is just the ticket for a sunny day, letting you people-watch in comfort. But, on the downside, some have mentioned the seating can be a bit hit or miss – you might find yourself squeezed at a massive table that doesn't quite fit your group, or struggling for space overall. Still, with such positive vibes overall, it's a place I'd recommend giving a go if you're after a reliable spot for a pint and a laugh.

Cons
-
Some seating arrangements can feel a bit awkward, like ending up at a huge table when you're with a small group, or not having enough space for everyone.
-
It might not suit every crowd perfectly, as a few have noted it's more 'cheap and cheerful' without anything particularly groundbreaking.

Went there before a Tigers rugby match. Good atmosphere smart place with good service excellent food and prices. Will return thanks guys.
We popped in here after I saw a FB post about it. This is a lovely pub and a great landlord who is trying to build a clientele. If you are able to spare some time, pop in and support the pub, take some friends along and add this to your night out. Support our local pubs!
Didn't have any Food, But I Enjoyed The open Mic Night Organised By Jack & Tasha, Others taking Part , in no particular were Grace & Lee, Pete Next Open Mic January 9th.. 7.30
We hired the Grand Union for a private function and couldn’t recommend it enough. Kathy and the whole team were on hand and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They helped with setting up and tidying down, and even helped bring everything to&from the car. They also washed our trays etc and stored the cake for us until the next day. The door staff were amazing & helped to make sure the function stayed private using their stamp system. Our night couldn’t have gone any better & it was hugely down to the staff. The venue looked great & was clean, tables were moved to accommodate the food etc., and staff checked the toilets often to ensure they were clean and had toilet roll. We had many people commenting that the drinks prices were really good and that the place was a lovely venue. Thank you guys for helping make our night memorable! We will definitely be back!
Cheap and cheerful and you can not really fault it.
Never had a negative visit-
The only downside is that some of the seating configurations feel awkward. Your either on a giant table or there isn't enough space for the group you arrive in.
Outside area is lovely to people watch on new walk.
