About This Pub
Ah, the Fox Hunters – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back night out in North Shields. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are proper gems; they're friendly, attentive, and make you feel like you're catching up with old pals rather than just another face in the crowd. The food's a real highlight too – flame-grilled fare like the XL mixed grill comes highly recommended, and it's often praised for being tasty and good value, especially if you're tucking into a family meal or something simple like chicken strips. Plus, it's brilliant for sports fans, with live events like the Women's Euros or the Lions tour playing on the screens, creating that electric atmosphere without overwhelming the place. On the flip side, though, it's not without its downsides; some folks mention it's a bit pricey for what you get, and the menu's shifted to more standard options, losing that edge of excitement it might have had before. Overall, it's a dependable spot for a relaxed evening, but if you're after something truly unique or budget-friendly, you might want to weigh it up first. Still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the warm vibes and solid offerings – just go in with realistic expectations and you're in for a treat.

I come to Fox Hunters every Monday for a quick pit stop between places. Everyone is always friendly, atmosphere super relaxed. Today as well as many times before I was served by Cory. He is always lovely and attentive, and coffee is great. Love coming back here :)
We stopped off here to see what it was like , we ordered some chicken strips, lamb kofta and skin on chips. It was all very tasty. Staff were fabulous and attentive. Will definitely come again for lunch and bring the in laws as it appears disabled friendly too for a wheelchair
A little bit on the expensive side but I suppose most things are these days, menu has changed alot you use to be able to do food challenges but now it's just normal generic things like steak burgers or traditional English food.
Pints are nice but I'd drink moretti out of a warm welly.....
Food quality was really good, peas were a bit undercooked but.
I've been here for drinks, drinks and food and would definitely return.
Beer garden is nice and private aswel and the staff are friendly.
Fantastic first visit, food was lovely and reasonably priced, staff were friendly, polite and attentive. We had the XL mixed grill, well cooked and nicely presented, my wife had the sirloin which was cooked as specified, and was tasty, the kids meal deal was good value for money, and the bacon cheeseburger my daughter had said it was delicious. The toilets were also clean and well maintained. Will be back again
We had a lovely evening meal here, all the staff were very friendly, great menu choices at very reasonable prices.
A special thanks to the lady with red hair who cleared our table who we had a lovely conversation with but forgot to ask her name.
The picture is of the XL Mixed Grill, absolutely delicious.
