About This Pub

Ah, the Durham Ox – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart from the moment you step in, based on what folks have shared in their reviews. The owners and the crowd make it so inviting, like you're among old friends right away, and the live music is an absolute treat, with regular gigs that get everyone tapping their feet and joining in. It's been given a smart makeover too, blending modern touches with that classic pub charm, making it ideal for a casual get-together or a lively party night. On the flip side, though, their online setup is a bit ropey – I couldn't get the website to load properly, so you might have to give them a ring or drop by to sort out the details. And with not loads of reviews out there, it feels like it's still building its reputation, but honestly, with such glowing feedback on the atmosphere and entertainment, I'd say it's well worth seeking out if you're after a proper, enjoyable pub experience in the area.

Cons
-

The website's a bit of a letdown – it's hard to access or get more details online, which might make planning a visit tricky.

With only a modest number of reviews, it hasn't quite hit the mainstream yet, so you might not hear about it as much as bigger spots.

The operating hours listed seem a tad inconsistent or confusing, which could leave you scratching your head about when it's open.

Superb venue . Very stylish and very friendly and welcoming from the owners.
It's been 20 years at least since I last visited The Durham Ox, and boy has it changed. It's still a great little pub, with a fab atmosphere, just updated decor and entertainment. Hopefully we'll visit again soon.
Great atmosphere. Band night is a top feature of this place. With karaoke half between sets. Fun night. We’ll attended by locals. Highly recommended.
Live entertainment every week and a nice pint. Great party venue too.
