Ah, Dulcimer – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you with its solid range of drinks and that homely feel in Chorlton. I have to say, the selection of beers is spot on, and the live music events create such a buzzing atmosphere that you'd be hard-pressed not to enjoy yourself. It's got this interesting decor that gives it a bit of character, and the fact it stays open later than most makes it ideal for a relaxed evening out. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales about the manager being a tad overbearing, which can make things awkward and take the edge off an otherwise great visit. The bar service isn't always smooth sailing either, with waits that might leave you twiddling your thumbs. All in all, it's worth popping in for a pint and a chat, but go in with your eyes open – the good bits shine through if you catch it on a good day.

Popped in whilst visiting Manchester the other week. Nice selection of drinks but we were upstairs for a slightly crowded (not a bad thing!) band night. Good event, good atmosphere and felt safe 👍🏻
Looks like they don't need money behind the bar here,guy In front of me waiting 10 mins walked out moaning about the wait..me and my party of 3 waited roughly the same which listening to the barmaid entertain her mates.
Was only acknowledged as we left the building.
Rubbish.
Walked two doors down to electrik and was served within seconds.
The place has a lot of promise, beer is nice and the bar staff are lovely. Bar the manager. He is a rude, condescending man who seems to get a kick out of making his customers (especially women) feel very uncomfortable in the bar. If I was to work in this bar I would be ashamed at the way he acts towards people who are paying his wages. Point proven.

Nice bar that stays open longer than most in chorlton. Although the upstairs is usually a little dead the downstairs has a nice atmosphere. There's a decent selection of good affordable cask ales as well as more expensive options. Shame the manager is such a rude, egotistical man however. The rest of the staff are absolutely lovely but it's a shame he's just so rude as it off-puts my friends and I visiting more. If you try to get a drink close to last orders (not after it) he is especially hostile but what does he expect from running a bar?
Long-standing Chorlton pub and live music venue. Good selection of world and British beers in keg, cask and bottle. Happy hour prices in the week which I think are deliberately 10p cheat a pint than the pub next door. Not exactly glamorous but the decor is pretty interesting. Known for folk music and there is always lots going on in terms of live music and comedy in the upstairs bar.
