About This Pub
Ah, the Drum & Monkey in Dorridge is one of those pubs that just feels like a welcoming local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the staff are absolute stars – always up for a chat and making sure you're sorted. The grub's mostly brilliant too, with hearty classics and fresh seasonal options that pair perfectly with a pint, and it's spot-on for families or if you're popping in with the dog for a bite. It's tucked away conveniently near the M42, with loads of parking, so it's dead easy to get to for a quick meet-up. On the downside, a few have mentioned that things can drag a bit with service, especially when it's busy, and occasionally the food doesn't quite live up to the hype, like with some dishes that could do with a bit more care. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or Sunday roast, as long as you keep expectations in check – wouldn't you agree it's worth a try?

Cons

It might not stand out in a crowded pub scene if you're after something truly unique, as it's a bit standard in places.

Good location for a family meet up. Conveniently located for M42. Good sized car park.
Clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and service was good. Chef and Brewer food menu, matched the quality, range and quantity of that I have had in similar establishments.
Very slow service for Sunday Lunch. When it arrived the food looked as if it had just been thrown on the plate. The pork was very tough. The beef was better. No apology when we asked why it was late, appeared to be blaming us for being slow in ordering when in fact they were very slow taking our order. First time we have been there for a long time and it will be a long time before we chance going back
Lovely atmosphere, a buzzing local hub with real warm and friendly staff. Rob is a great guy and Frankie is one of the bubbliest persons I have ever met in a pub. Well done team
This pretty, beamed, gastro pub is fabulous. A warm and welcoming staff are very attentive. The food is amongst the BEST I have eaten anywhere and I eat out a lot. I don't know who the head chef is, but the food is so good, the presentation is so pretty, and the depth of flavours and textures in my dish was outstanding. I could not believe the bill for such a wonderful evening, it was a happy surprise to be able to enjoy splendid food at such competitive prices.
Been here several times now and the food has been consistently good, the staff friendly and courteous and good value for money, will continue returning
