About This Pub

Ah, The Farm Inn – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its charming, rustic vibe in a beautifully restored old farmhouse near Solihull. I have to say, the food is a real winner; think succulent roasts and mouthwatering desserts that leave you satisfied and smiling, paired with a solid range of drinks that go down a treat. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to that homely feel. Plus, with live music and plenty of space for groups, it's brilliant for catching up with mates or enjoying a relaxed evening. On the flip side, though, it can get a bit too energetic with the music cranked up and lights dimmed, turning what should be a quiet dinner into something more like a night out – not ideal if you're after a peaceful pint and a natter. There are also grumbles about prices creeping up on certain items, and it seems like the place is evolving under new hands, which might not sit well with everyone. All in all, it's a gem if you're up for a lively time with great grub, but worth keeping in mind if you prefer things a tad more subdued.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with standout roasts and desserts that really hit the spot for a hearty meal.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's set in a beautiful, historic Grade II listed farmhouse with a relaxed countryside vibe that's perfect for unwinding.
  • They've got a great selection of drinks and cocktails, and the live music adds a fun, lively touch to the evenings.
  • Ample parking and a well-managed atmosphere make it easy for groups or events, so it's spot on for social gatherings.
Cons
  • The music can get a bit too loud at times, making it tricky to have a proper chat, especially early in the evening.
  • Lighting is often dimmed quite a lot, which might make the place feel more like a nightclub than a cosy pub.
  • Some menu items seem a tad overpriced, like the sharers, and there are signs that changes under new management are affecting things.
  • It doesn't always live up to the traditional pub feel, with a few reviewers noting it comes across as more of a restaurant with a party vibe.

The food was nice, friendly staff but the music was really loud and the lights dimed a lot. It was difficult to have a conversation. It felt like a nightclub rather than a restaurant. It was just 6 pm.

Fullers seem to be slowly taking the reins - £8 for two pieces of uncooked focaccia and it’s classed as a sharer! £10 for 6 pieces of calamari. They did refund the bread and the waitress was lovely but overall disappointed the place is changing.

Visited The Farm Inn in Solihull and had a lovely experience. The staff were polite and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the "smash burger" wasn't quite a traditional smash burger, it was still very tasty. Drinks were well-prepared, and the desserts were absolutely delicious. Would happily visit again!

Went on Sunday (first time eating there) specifically for the roast. I fancied a nice quality roast and that's exactly what I got. I had the lamb roast and it lived up to all my expectations, I was very happy with my meal. It came with a nice variety of vegetables, crispy Yorkshire puddings and more (depending on what you want). It filled me up and everything was cooked to perfection. My husband had the chicken roast and he enjoyed it thoroughly too. Our boys had burgers and they were also very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food came quick and the pub was lovely inside. Best experience eating out we've had in a while (there is usually something to moan about 😆) We will definitely go there again.

Bestest cocktail with delicious food options with ample parking. Managing the crowd in the best pleasant way. Music and the live performance was the highlight of the night.
