About This Pub
Ah, the Dog & Fox in Wimbledon – it's one of those classic pubs that really pulls you in with its inviting atmosphere and that feel-good buzz, especially if you're popping in for a pint with friends or to catch a rugby match or tennis on the telly. I love how the staff go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, and the beer garden is just lovely on a nice day, tucked away in the heart of the village. Being dog-friendly is a nice touch too, making it easy to bring the whole family along, four-legged included. They've got some cracking offers for stays upstairs, perfect for a cheeky getaway or during the Wimbledon Championships. On the downside, though, I've heard a few gripes about the service dragging on, even when it's not too busy, and the food can be a mixed bag – some bits are spot on with fresh, seasonal ingredients, but others might leave you wanting more, like skimpy portions or dishes that don't quite hit the mark. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good time, but maybe keep an eye on the menu choices to avoid any disappointments.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The atmosphere is spot on – it's a proper cosy spot for catching up with mates over a pint or watching the big sports events.
-
The beer garden is a real treat, especially in Wimbledon Village, perfect for soaking up the sun and people-watching.
-
It's brilliantly dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry companion along for the fun.
-
They've got a great selection of seasonal British grub and even rooms upstairs for a stay, ideal for a weekend away or during Wimbledon fortnight.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit slow at times, even when it's not packed, which might leave you waiting longer than you'd like for your food or drinks.
-
Some dishes have fallen short, like tiny portions of things such as feta cheese on salads or food that's overpriced for what you get.
-
There have been reports of incorrect orders and inconsistent quality, such as focaccia that's more like cake or butter that's rock hard.
-
The food doesn't always live up to expectations, with a few reviews mentioning bland or poorly prepared items that dampen the experience.

Saturday lunch service was friendly but so slow and it wasn't even busy in there! First they delivered the wrong salad (that happens, so what?) then my main Greek salad arrived with (I kid you not) a teeny sprinkling - like it was parmesan - of Feta cheese. It is so overpriced and I was so underwhelmed - Greek salad isn't difficult, but when I asked for more Feta on my GREEK salad, I didn't appreciate the sarcastic reply - "oh, there is some in there" (a little bit more was added, but not much). I left the half-red onion they'd been very generous with. So overpriced - I wouldn't bother going again - Wimbledon Village has so much else to offer.
Stopped in for a quick bite. Gorgeous beer garden. Great location to watch the world go by. Sadly the food was very poor. The foccacia has cake-like consistency. The butter was out of the fridge and too hard to use. The gazpacho was a tablespoon of unsalted tomato pulp in a dog bowl. The only dish worth eating was the tomato salad and that was due to the seasonal quality of the produce. I personally would drink here but wouldn't eat here again.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Dog and Fox in Wimbledon! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The pub itself is charming and has a great vibe, perfect for an evening out.
A special shoutout to the manager, Alfie, who truly made our visit stand out. Alfie was attentive, welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food, great drinks, and top-notch service. We'll definitely be returning soon!

An unforgettable experience at Dog and Fox, all thanks to Justin! Highly recommend!
Had an amazing time at the Dog and Fox a couple of nights ago! The atmosphere was great, but the real highlight was Tom, the bartender. Super friendly, quick with the drinks, and really knows his stuff. He recommended the perfect cocktail based on what I like, and it was spot on. The service was top-notch, and he made everyone at the bar feel welcome. Definitely coming back again, cheers to great service!
