About This Pub

Ah, Dirty Dicks – what a gem tucked away near Liverpool Street, isn't it? I've got to say, it's got that timeless appeal with its steeped-in-history feel, making every visit feel like a step into London's past, all while being spot-on for after-work drinks or catching up with friends over a pint. The team there are just lovely, always up for a chat and serving up drinks with a smile, which really makes the place shine. And let's not forget the grub; when it's on form, like that mouth-watering burger, it's spot on for a satisfying bite. But, fair's fair, it's not perfect – I've heard a few tales of dodgy roasts that didn't quite live up to the hype, and on packed nights, the noise from the lively crowd can make it hard to hear yourself think. Still, for anyone in the area, it's worth a go; just keep expectations balanced and you'll likely have a top-notch time swapping stories over a round or two.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The historic charm of Dirty Dicks really adds a special touch – it's like stepping back in time while still feeling right at home in the heart of London.
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant; friendly faces like Anca and Sarah make you feel welcome and add a real warmth to the place.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks at reasonable prices, perfect for unwinding after a long day, whether it's a classic ale or a well-made cocktail.
  • The food hits the spot in many ways, with tasty options like that juicy Dirty Dicks Burger that's full of flavour and just the thing for a hearty meal.
  • Its prime location near Liverpool Street Station makes it super convenient for popping in before or after work, and they've got flexible spaces for groups or private gatherings.
Cons
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; for instance, some roasts have turned out a bit tough and disappointing, which is a shame given the pub's reputation.
  • It can get quite noisy, especially with the crowds of city workers, making it tricky for a quiet chat on busier evenings.
  • There's a bouncer on duty sometimes, which might feel a tad off-putting if you're after a more relaxed vibe, though they're just keeping things in order.

Grabbed a few drinks, the place felt historic and was so clean for a pub (despite the name!) Waitress was lovely and great selection of drinks for a great price. I will definitely be returning!

Took my daughters here for Sunday roast dinner, younger daughter ordered the chicken and enjoyed it, myself & my older daughter ordered roast beef which frankly was so rubbery it was barely edible, a great shame as I had shared fond memories of the pub with my daughters from back in the day, waitress asked if all was OK looking at the meat left on my plate, I mentioned I couldn’t manage to chew the rubbery beef and she said she would let the chef know

What a brilliant spot near Liverpool Street Station! I had the Dirty Dicks Burger and it was absolutely delicious – juicy, messy, and packed with flavour. The real highlight though was the amazing service from Anca – she made me three perfect Margaritas and honestly, made my day. Friendly, fun, and a true cocktail artist! I’ll definitely be back. Cheers, Dirty Dicks!

I love this pub, it feels like Alice’s homeland with a secret garden where I can make some of my friend and work calls while I enjoy my drink or snack. Sarah makes this place more positive and her glowing personality makes this pub nicer 🥰 Highly recommend for my colleagues around the area.

Nice little pub, with a great name, overrun by finance bros. Service was good and prompt, after getting past the bouncer (who was just doing his job to keep even more obnoxious patrons out). The clientele was loud on a Thursday night, though that's no fault of the business. I would like to revisit on a slower afternoon, because the space has real character.
