About This Pub
Ah, Dhillons Brewery Spire Bar – what a delightful spot it is, tucked away in the heart of Coventry with that enchanting, cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. I love how they've transformed this old church spire into a proper inviting space, perfect for catching up with mates over some beautifully crafted ales or those standout cocktails that everyone's raving about. The staff really shine too; they're so warm and attentive, making sure everything runs smoothly, whether you're there for a relaxed drink or diving into their tasty street food and bottomless brunch options. It's got that extra spark with events like quizzes and live music, which can turn an ordinary visit into something memorable. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of tables not being as clean as they'd like, especially if you've booked ahead, and with prices edging up, it might not feel as wallet-friendly as before. Still, overall, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a good time, as long as you go in with your eyes open to those minor downsides; it's all about weighing the gems against the rough edges, really.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's like stepping into a cosy, historic hideaway in the heart of Coventry, with that old church spire vibe making it feel truly unique and inviting.
-
The drinks are top-notch; their craft beers, cocktails, and even the wines are crafted with real care, and from what I've heard from folks, the mango solero cocktail is a real winner.
-
Staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or booking a table for brunch.
-
They've got some cracking food options, like delicious street food and that bottomless brunch deal, which sounds like a fabulous way to spend a lazy afternoon with friends.
-
Events like quizzes and live entertainment add a fun buzz, making it a great spot for a lively night out or a relaxed gathering.
Cons
-
There have been grumbles about cleanliness, especially with tables that are booked in advance – it seems like they could do with a bit more attention to keep things spotless.
-
Prices have crept up recently, and some have noticed that the overall standards haven't quite kept pace, which might leave you feeling it's not as good value as it used to be.

I come here for the quiz and every time I’ve come and booked a table for it , it’s dirty with a reserved sign on it. Could someone not clean it as they put a name sign on it? They’ve upped the quiz price to £3 a person and the cleanliness has gone down from just a few months ago. Over the winter when it has been outside as there’s more people a lot of the heaters haven’t worked or seem to of been fixed as some are still broken now and we’re in summer.
The food is ordered from elsewhere and comes cold most of the time and there isn’t many options at all.
Booked for bottomless brunch! The staff were the best, nothing was too much, the food was delicious, chicken tikka and keema chips plenty
of it too. The drink ls were delicious too, a lovley selection of cocktails all presented beautifully, the sun was out too it was lovely to sit in the outdoor booths and listen to the music. Thank you for having us 🙂 would definitely recommend five stars from us, thank you 🍸🍹🍾🥂
We went for brunch here yesterday and had such a great time.
Drinks were great, food was lovely & the singer was very entertaining which made the experience even better.
George served us and our drinks were absolutely amazing. I had the mango solero cocktail and both times it was the most delicious drink I have had. He was absolutely lovely with the service thank you!
Beautiful brewery in the heart of Coventry. Both the inside and the outside decoration is beautiful. I would definitely recommend trying their Ghost Town lagers, it is the smoothest lager I have ever tasted. Brooklyn lager is good for strong taste lovers. They have delicious cocktails too but not the margarita it was way too sweet then a margarita should be. We loved here and we will definitely go there again. Hopefully for a brewery tour and for personalised beer.
