About This Pub
Ah, the Davenport Arms – what a gem of a pub it is, isn't it? I've got to say, from what I've seen, it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a proper get-together with mates or family. The cosy nooks and crackling fires create this inviting atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding, especially on those blustery winter days, and the beer gardens are a treat when the sun's out, giving you a chance to enjoy the fresh air without straying too far from a good pint. The food really stands out too; it's hearty, well-prepared, and there's something for everyone, whether you're sharing a platter or tucking into a solid meal. And the team behind the bar? They're an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and efficient service that makes you feel looked after from the moment you walk in. On the flip side, it does tend to get a bit crowded during peak times, so you might have to plan ahead or brace for a queue, and I've noticed the opening hours aren't always straightforward to pin down, which could catch you out if you're not careful. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area – the history and welcoming feel make it a standout, and I'd reckon it's well worth a visit for a relaxed afternoon or evening.

This pub has it all! Roaring fire on a cold day, fantastic coffee and great food on the menu. We love the pub's history going back a thousand years and the staff is friendly. One worth stopping by next time we are in the area.

Our first visit for many years. Shared a lunch with the Mrs, sausage starter and fish sharing platter, both really good.
