About This Pub

Oh, Cricketers Arms is one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a relaxed get-together, isn't it? From what I've gathered, it's got this lovely traditional vibe, packed with Birmingham City memorabilia that really brings the football spirit to life – I can imagine chatting away with mates surrounded by all that history. The staff and regulars are absolute gems, always making sure everyone feels welcome, even if you're an away supporter popping in for a pre-match pint. It's dead affordable too, so you won't feel guilty about ordering another round. That said, it can get a bit bustling on game days, which might not suit if you're after a peaceful evening, and without a website, it's a bit of a faff to find out more beforehand. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a good laugh and a proper pint, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just go with the flow and enjoy the craic!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and locals are incredibly welcoming, especially to away fans, making it feel like a proper community hub
  • It's a traditional old pub with loads of Birmingham City memorabilia, perfect for soaking up that football atmosphere
  • Pints are served in proper glasses, not plastic, which adds to the authentic pub experience
  • It's inexpensive, so you can enjoy a few drinks without breaking the bank
  • Open from 9am to 11pm every day, ideal for a casual daytime pint or evening catch-up
Cons
  • It might get a bit packed and lively on match days, which isn't ideal if you're after a quiet spot
  • No website means it's tricky to check details online before heading over
  • The focus on football could feel a tad one-sided if you're not into the sport

Went for a few pre match pints before our (Cov's) match away at St Andrews. Traditional old pub full of Birmingham City memorabilia and Blues fans but they welcome in away fans, good mix of home and away fans with no trouble

Very welcoming pub which is walking distance away from St Andrews. We were visiting Bristol City fans and we came here after the match. The staff and the Birmingham fans were very welcoming to us and had some nice conversations about how both of our seasons were going.
