About This Pub
Ah, Broomfield Tavern – what a hidden gem in Coventry! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its excellent range of cask-conditioned ales and craft beers; folks rave about the flavours, like the Citra or that Killer Stout, and it's clear it's a haven for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is just brilliant – think warm and welcoming, with a proper old-fashioned feel that's perfect for nattering away or even popping in with your furry friend, as it's dog-friendly. The staff get a big thumbs up too; they're friendly and make everyone feel at ease. On the flip side, if you're after a cold lager on tap, you might be out of luck – it's only available in bottles, which could be a bit of a letdown for some. And while it's not the most polished spot, that's part of its charm for those who appreciate a no-nonsense, traditional pub. All in all, with a solid 4.7 rating, it's worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a relaxed evening without spending a fortune – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
They've got a fantastic selection of craft beers and ciders that really hit the spot – perfect if you're into real ales like Frothblowers or something a bit more adventurous.
-
The atmosphere is spot on; it's a proper old-school boozer that's warm, welcoming, and just right for a good chat with friends or even bringing your dog along.
-
The staff are lovely and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's inexpensive, so you can enjoy a few drinks without breaking the bank, and it's open most evenings for a relaxed pint.
Cons
-
They don't have lager on tap, just large bottles, which might disappoint if that's your go-to drink.
-
The place isn't all shiny and polished – it's more of a traditional back-street pub, so if you prefer something more modern, it might not be your cup of tea.

Recent Reviews
Good range of beers, no lager on tap, only large bottles. Good atmosphere and nice staff.
This is an exceptional pub. The quality of the cask conditioned ale is very good. The atmosphere is great. They usually have Frothblowers, Pifle Snonker on. A good old-fashioned boozer. A place for conversation and dogs.
Having seen the reviews I stopped in for a quick pint before watching the Rugby. Afterwards I wished I had left more time to sample more than one drink, such was the rounded flavour and quality.
The appearance isn't polished but it doesn't need to be. The tavern was warm and welcoming with a mixture of regulars and spectators. Staff kept the queues to a minimum whilst being very friendly.
The beer isn't the usual commercial offering but instead is a wide selection of well chosen offerings, which were well looked after.
I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often as subsequent drinks elsewhere were no where near the same standard.
Fantastic selection of craft beers and ciders. Everyone is welcoming and friendly.
Proper back street pub. Real ales and cider...
Proper free house, how all pubs should be. Still a great pub, dog friendly. Beers from recent visits include Citra, Damn Dog and a Killer Stout.
