About This Pub

You know, when I think about Chicco Di Caffe, it's one of those places that really stands out in Rugby for its heartfelt approach to dining. The food is a real highlight – think tasty omelettes, generous portions of Italian classics, and that homely feel that makes every meal feel special. The staff are just lovely, always chatting away and making sure everything's just right, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. It's ideal for a laid-back breakfast or lunch with friends, and they've got takeaway sorted if you're on the go. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few folks mention that waits can drag on a bit, like one person waiting over half an hour for brunch, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a hurry. Plus, there have been times when dishes weren't quite up to scratch, such as a dry mixed grill or something a tad too saucy, so it's not perfect every visit. Overall, it's a solid spot with plenty of charm, and I'd say it's worth popping in for the good bits, just keep those expectations balanced and maybe go when you've got time to relax. If you're after a genuine, friendly eatery in the area, this one's got a lot going for it.

Pros and Cons

  • The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, always making you feel welcome and looked after.
  • It's got a gorgeous atmosphere and decor, perfect for a relaxed breakfast, lunch, or even a casual evening out.
  • They offer great takeaway options, which is handy if you're in a rush or prefer to enjoy it at home.
  • The owner is really responsive and goes the extra mile to sort out any issues, which makes for a positive experience overall.
Cons
  • Wait times for food can be a bit lengthy, like over 30 minutes in some cases, which might disrupt your plans.
  • Some dishes might not hit the mark every time, such as meals being too dry or overly saucy, leading to mixed results.
  • The menu has loads on offer, but it can feel overwhelming, and not everything lives up to expectations.
  • Opening hours vary a tad by day, so it's worth double-checking if you're planning a visit on a Sunday.
  • While it's generally spot on, there might be the odd inconsistency in food quality that could disappoint.

I’ve ordered takeaways from here for years and it has always been spot on. I have been to the restaurant a few times and the decor is gorgeous. I went today and had an issue with my food, the owner spoke with me and gave me my whole order for free despite me offering to pay for my drinks. Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you to the owner for being so understanding and the waitresses for being so professional and friendly

Visited Sunday for a brunch/ lunch. Seated quickly and order taken swiftly. Food took over 30mins to arrive - so a long time and no warning of this when we ordered. Husbands enjoyed his cooked breakfast. However my mixed grill was too dry and chewy, the salad wasn’t dressed and the bread wasn’t enjoyable - avoid these dishes. I will be waiting a while to re-visit as the cost doesn’t justify the quality of food

Staff and food nice. Would recommend for a bite to eat at lunch for sure. Greeted at the door and very quickly served by the staff, no waiting around which is always a bonus. Menu has LOTS on offer. I had the Pollo Picante panini which was nice but a bit too saucy for my liking (that’s just me being fussy though, partner also had it and loved it!). Friends we were with had the mega breakfast, now would highly recommended that! Bowl of chips easily serves two.
