About This Pub

Ah, the Bush Inn – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From what I've gathered from the chats and reviews, it's got this warm, family-run charm that's hard to beat, with staff who are always up for a laugh and ready to help out. There's plenty going on to keep things lively, like regular quizzes, pool nights, and a beer draw that could make your evening even better. The Sunday lunches sound like a real treat, all hearty and homemade, though you'll want to book ahead to snag a spot. It's dog-friendly in the bar, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry mate, and the drinks are spot on without breaking the bank. On the flip side, it's tucked away on a housing estate, so it might not be the first place you'd think of for a night out, and there are a few niggles like the odd dead plant in the garden or those low bench seats that could leave you shifting about. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together, and while it's not flawless, the good times definitely outweigh the little downsides – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • It's a proper family-run local with a lively atmosphere, full of fun events like quizzes, pool, darts, and even a weekly beer draw to keep things entertaining.
  • The Sunday lunches are absolutely spot on – proper hearty meals that are worth planning ahead for, and it's great that it's dog-friendly in the bar area.
  • Drinks are affordable and just what you'd expect from a good pub, making it a solid spot for a casual pint or two.
  • The pub itself is clean and has a nice beer garden out the back, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.
Cons
  • The location on a housing estate means it's not the easiest place to stumble upon if you're not local, so you might have to make a bit of an effort to get there.
  • There are some minor upkeep issues, like dead plants in the garden, which could do with a tidy-up to make the outdoor space even more inviting.
  • The bench seats along the walls are a bit on the low side, which might leave you feeling a tad uncomfortable after a while, especially if you're stopping for more than a quick drink.
  • Popular things like the Sunday lunch need booking in advance, so if you're spontaneous, you might miss out and end up disappointed.

I only popped in for a couple of pints but the drinks were fine and the girl serving was friendly, I had no food, so I can rate that.

An amazing, family run local pub with a great atmosphere. Staff can't do enough. There is always something going on, quiz, pool, darts. Lots of domino cards and a beer draw every week. Sunday lunch is to die for but must be ordered in advance. Bloody brilliant having this gem of a place on the doorstep.

Clean pub, friendly staff. Outside garden. Some dead plants, but hey ho. The food offered on Sundays, Sunday Lunch! Great Sunday lunches, but book so you're not disappointed for a table. Doggy-friendly pub. (Barside only)

Definitely a pub pub, on a housing estate so not somewhere you're going to pass at any time. Called in on a weekday midafternoon so pretty quiet, I would think totally different nights and weekends. Beer garden at the back. Good bar area but the bench seats along the walls are very low, some of the stools were higher.
