About This Pub

Ah, Burton House Brewers Fayre – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate for a bite in Boston, you know? They've got some absolute gems going on, like those budget-friendly lunch deals where you can snag mains for just £5, and don't get me started on the Sunday carvery; it's a proper treat with juicy meats and all the trimmings for a steal, ideal for gathering the family without breaking the bank. The outdoor seating is a nice touch for soaking up the fresh air, and if you're an early riser, their breakfast options are a solid way to kick off the day. But, fair's fair, it's not all sunshine and roses – I've heard from a few mates that the service can be a right faff, with long queues for food even when it's not heaving, all because they seem a bit short-staffed. Some dishes have turned up overcooked or not quite up to snuff, which is a shame when you're tucking in. Still, the team are grafting away and trying their best, so if you pop in during quieter times and keep expectations realistic, you might just have a cracking visit. All in all, it's worth a go for the deals, but maybe plan ahead to dodge the frustrations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The prices are spot on for a casual meal out, with mains starting from just £5 and great deals like the Sunday carvery for under £12 – perfect for keeping things affordable without skimping on portions.
  • It's really family-friendly, offering a kids' menu and fun options like the carvery, making it a great spot for a relaxed Sunday with the little ones.
  • They've got outdoor dining available, which is lovely on a nice day, and the breakfast is served early, giving you a solid start to the morning.
  • The staff are clearly putting in the effort, with some folks mentioning how helpful and hardworking they are, even when things get busy.
Cons
  • Service can be painfully slow, with waits of over an hour for food even when it's not packed, which puts a damper on the whole experience.
  • Staffing seems a bit thin on the ground, leading to one person juggling everything from orders to serving, which means things don't always run smoothly.
  • Food quality varies – some dishes come out overcooked or burnt, like pizzas and appetisers, so it's not always as tasty as you'd hope.
  • Recent visits have been a bit of a letdown overall, with lower ratings suggesting it's not at its best right now, especially for dinner.

Very poor experience for dinner, waited over hour for food from ordering. Staff numbers seemed very low.One staff member, dealing with reservations, orders, the bar and serving. Backed up but a couple of other waitresses. They were doing their best to be fair. Gave up second day and went to a fish and chip shop. Hoped it was a one off, but seems not. Breakfast was good. Please look at better staffing levels at dinner to improve your service.

Went for dinner today and were curious to try the food in this establishment as we had not been there yet. Ordered drinks and were shown to our table straight away. We were 3 adults and 2 kids, sharing two appetisers which came fairly quickly. Both calamari and macaroni cheese bites were overcooked- how disappointing. We ordered 3x smothered chicken mains, kids meal and rice with Korean chicken or smth.. waiting time was ridiculous- 1 hour and 20 minutes. And food was shockingly bad!! Chicken breast was not fresh ad could barely slice it, the whole table was shaking while we were working it!! Will not be returning for sure. As nice as the staff members were, food is just not worth the wait or money (and prices are quite low! !! Sad sad

An absolute shambles. We were staying at the Premier Inn and decided to dine at Brewers Fayre with it being on site. We booked a table for 7pm. When we arrived we were told there's a 40 minutes wait for food. We ordered at the bar at 7:15pm. Stonebaked Margherita pizza (Cheese, Tomato, Oregano), chicken tikka masala and a kids' Chicken with chips and beans. We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for food. When it eventually arrived, the pizza was overcooked, had started to go cold and it was seemingly just a frozen pizza, no better than a one you'd pick up for 89p in Aldi. There was no oregano on the pizza. Asked for oregano and the waiter explained that they don't use oregano, despite it stating on the menu. The kids' Chicken was overcooked as well, to the point that it ended up all over the floor when it was cut into. It was a complete disaster from start to finish. We complained and got our money back. We ended up going to a local McDonald's, which was lovely

4☆ Overall. Dinner. Staff work hard to make this a good experience. Clare, and the server, looked after me very well when I turned up close to the kitchen closing at 9pm, and the food was well cooked. Thank you. The hot food itself is budget quality. Breakfast. To be fair whilst I personally have full English the fruit and continental looked really good quality. As with dinner the food itself was acceptable if not great, but well cooked and plentiful. So, Overall I rate this pub and the lovely stand fair value and would go again. If I had been there for work rather than leisure I would be delighted.

Pretty poor effort a 52 minute wait for our food when the pub was only about half full. Although my meal was fine my daughter had waited nearly an hour for a burnt pizza. The service at the bar was also very slow with one person taking food and drink orders
