About This Pub

Ah, Brook Green Hotel – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper London hideaway, tucked away near a beautiful common in Hammersmith. I've got to say, what really stands out is how handy the location is; you're just a stone's throw from the tube and loads of attractions, which makes nipping around the city an absolute doddle, and having that park nearby is a lovely bonus for a quick stroll. The staff are top-notch too – they're always up for a chat and go out of their way to make your stay memorable, which adds such a warm touch. The rooms themselves are generally clean and snug, with those feather-light pillows and crisp sheets that make for a good night's kip, and it's brilliant that they cater to families and even dogs. On the flip side, though, it's not all roses; some rooms can be on the small side or have niggles like dodgy heating, and the busy street outside might keep you awake if you're sensitive to noise. Plus, with stairs being the only way up, it might not be the easiest for those with mobility concerns. All in all, it's a charming spot for a pint and a stay, but I'd suggest weighing up those pros and cons to see if it suits your style – it's got that authentic pub-hotel charm that could make for a memorable trip if you pick the right room.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is spot on, right near Hammersmith and Kensington Olympia stations, making it a breeze to get around London, plus there's a lovely park just across the street for a bit of fresh air.
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and helpful, which really makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
  • Rooms are clean and cosy, with comfy beds and nice little touches that help you unwind after a day of exploring.
  • It's great for families or if you're travelling with a dog, as they offer interconnecting rooms and are super pet-friendly.
  • The pub downstairs serves up excellent food and drinks, and they've got some tempting packages like bed, breakfast, and a spritz to boot.
Cons
  • Some rooms can feel a bit small and might have issues like temperamental heating, which isn't ideal on a chilly evening.
  • Being on a busy street means it can get noisy, especially if you're a light sleeper, and it's near a police station too.
  • There's no lift, so if you're on the upper floors, you'll have to tackle the stairs, which might not suit everyone.
  • Accommodation isn't always perfect – a few folks have mentioned inconsistencies in room quality, so it pays to check in advance.

We love the Brook Green and have stayed here several times while in London. The location is the best for access to bus/bike/underground transportation around the city, and it's lovely to have the park right across the street, even though you're in the city. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and it feels like home away from home. Good food served, but a large grocery store right behind the hotel as well.

I was staying at The Brook Green Hotel last Autumn. The people working there were all very nice & helpful and the pub itself is gorgeous. However accommodation wasn't that satisfying. I first got a room which was truly fancy and which I would have loved staying in, however the heating of the air condition didn't work and the wall between the room door and the bathroom was wet (probably from a leak in the roof), thus also leaving a faint mouldy odour in the room. I got changed to a room which was still OK, but kind of smaller. The tv had wires hanging from behind it which I reported, but which got never fixed. Both rooms were basically very clean and the "chamber maid" I encountered on the stairs outside the rooms a couple of mornings was very sweet and lovely. Also, I don't understand why they advertise their cocktail bar on their website (they currently still do) for being accessible to residents, although it is not - residents and pub guests can't visit it because it can only be hired for private functions. As such, people from one of these private functions were one night loudly partying right below my window until 2am - I know this is a hotel in a city where noises are expected, but Hammersmith is a residential area where one can't expect noise from a cocktail bar which isn't even accessible to hotel residents. That was very annoying indeed. I will gladly revisit the pub on my future trips to London because it is gorgeous indeed, but I probably won't ever consider booking one of the rooms again.

They are one of the most friendly teams in London. Wonderful. The room I had was typical London-ish—small but cozy and fully equipped. It was very clean. The bed was superb. The food is excellent, and the area is nice with coffee shops and bakeries. I learned at my departure that they have much bigger rooms. So make sure to book the right room. However I made the booking it was the last room. A great tip to stay in London.

Had a nice room here, and the location was very convenient for the airport and the subway, with lots to do in the area. Plenty of good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Biggest complaint about location is that it's also near a police station and on a busy street. This is not a place for a quiet, relaxing stay - during the day, sirens and street honking are pretty much constant, and also sometimes at night when you're trying to sleep. I got food poisoning in their restaurant at breakfast, and although the housekeeper was very nice and responsive, the rest of the staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. I would not stay here again.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a full week to do some London sightseeing, attend football matches and explore the city. The staff was excellent from the reception, housekeeping, pub etc, they deserve recognition for how helpful they were. The rooms were very nice and clean for the price and plenty of space for us to unwind and feel comfortable each day after a lot of walking. The area is excellent, well connected and close to the tube so you can get anywhere you need to quickly. We would absolutely stay here again when we are back.
