About This Pub

You know, when I think about BrewChimp in Urmston, it just brings a smile – it's one of those pubs where you walk in and instantly feel at home, with a buzzing atmosphere and folks who are up for a good chat. The music nights are an absolute highlight; they're so lively and make for a brilliant night out. The staff behind the bar are real gems, always pouring a perfect pint of Guinness that hits the spot every time. And if you're peckish, their Hache food is top-notch, adding a nice touch to the experience. With ratings averaging out at 4.7, it's clear most people are chuffed with the place. But let's be fair, it's not flawless – I've heard a couple of tales where a beer was just average, and there might be a wait for some options, which can be a bit frustrating on a busy evening. Still, for anyone looking for a solid local haunt in Manchester, it's definitely worth popping in for the good times, as long as you keep expectations realistic.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely spot on, with friendly customers and those fantastic music nights that really get everyone in the mood
  • The bar staff are brilliant, serving up a superb pint of Guinness that's always a winner
  • They've got excellent food options, like the Hache dishes, which come highly recommended
  • Overall, it's a cracking local spot with heaps of positive vibes and a solid reputation from all the rave reviews
Cons
  • Some of the beers, like the house session one, are just okay and don't quite hit the mark
  • There can be occasional hiccups with drink availability, such as waiting for certain ales to come on tap

Booth and I decided to walk 15 minutes out of Urmston to try this micro bar. Four real ales. Two from Beartown Brewery in Congleton plus a house session beer that we tried..it was OK. ( Beartown?) They had Bateman's XB from Lincolnshire on this visit but only came on after I ordered. Wine was disappointing as well. One room bar seats about 36 plus similar out front. One TV. Can hire out the bar. Pipped music. Needs some TLC. There is a small kitchen but no sign of food being served on this visit.
