About This Pub
Ah, Boom Battle Bar in Stevenage – what a gem for anyone up for some proper entertainment! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really knows how to get the party started with all those interactive games like axe throwing, karaoke booths, and even augmented reality darts; it's dead exciting and makes for unforgettable evenings with friends or on a date. The staff are generally spot on, chipping in with tips and keeping things cheerful, and those cocktails? Absolute winners – they'll have you coming back for more. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing; the prices can sting a bit, especially if you're not rolling with a big group, and I've heard a few grumbles about the front desk service not being as attentive as it could be. Plus, if you're after a proper meal, you might be out of luck, as they don't seem to have much on offer there. Overall, it's a fantastic shout for a lively night if you're in the mood for games and giggles, just make sure to plan around the costs and check if it suits your group's size – you'll have a whale of a time if you do!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The variety of games is brilliant – from axe throwing and karaoke to augmented reality darts and shuffleboard, there's something for everyone to get stuck into and have a laugh.
-
The staff are really friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome and ensuring you have a great time, especially during activities like axe throwing.
-
The atmosphere is lively and fun, perfect for groups, dates, or even corporate events, with a cool vibe that gets you in the mood for some friendly competition.
-
Cocktails are a highlight – they're delicious and add to the overall enjoyment, like the Zombie cocktail that's highly recommended.
Cons
-
It can get quite pricey, especially for smaller groups, with things like electronic darts costing £40 per group, which might not feel like great value compared to other spots.
-
Service at the front desk isn't always up to scratch; some folks have mentioned staff being more interested in chatting among themselves than helping out.
-
There doesn't seem to be much in the way of food options – you might end up shrugging and heading elsewhere for a bite, which is a bit of a letdown.
-
It's not ideal for smaller gatherings or if you're looking for deals, as there aren't many discounts available, and it's strictly over 18s after 7pm, so keep that in mind for family outings.

Boom Battle Bar is amazing, I love the axe throwing, beer pong, pool and especially the Karaoke Booth. So much fun I also highly recommend the cocktails, they are so delicious especially their Zombie cocktail. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Love the atmosphere and vibe. Didn’t try any of the food so could not rate it.
Fantastic venue. We played augmented reality darts. I didn’t realise darts can be so much fun. There are lots of different games to choose from. We had a great time. It was £40 for the hour. Will definitely go back. Next time, we may try some of the other activities. Highly recommended
The games are far to expensive for groups smaller than 4, competitors such as flight club offer far better value for money despite being a London only venue. For example, electronic darts costs £40 per group, and table tennis £15. Disappointing there aren’t any deals or discounts for smaller groups, as with a couple we would have had to pay £20 each for less than an hour of darts. Both mentioned activities can be found free in a lot of pubs and venues.
Not great. The kids on the front desk are more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving guests. The bar service was good, but try asking for a food menu and you’ll be met with a shrug of the shoulders and a face that says “go eat somewhere else”. It’s worth noting that you don’t get an hour for your activity, because you have to queue for a few minutes at your start time, then get shown instructions, then you get to play. You actually get about 50 minutes if you’re lucky.
Food selection is bad, luckily there’s plenty of options outside.
The people in there probably aren’t paid great, so I guess their level of service is reflected in that they just don’t care that you’re there.
The place was dirty too & shouldn’t have been because there was more than enough team on for a Friday night, but they had a lot of talking to do at the front desk I guess.
The lady hosting the axe throwing made it so fun and entertaining! She really made you feel at ease, we went as soon as it opened so the atmosphere was quiet but still fun.
