About This Pub

Ah, Bishops – it's one of those neighbourhood gems in London that just hits the spot for a casual outing. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel at ease, whether you're popping in for a quick breakfast or settling in for something more. The food's a proper treat too; imagine tucking into a well-cooked omelette or an English breakfast with a fresh twist, all without breaking the bank. And let's not forget the prime spot for enjoying a bit of sunshine with your tea – it's ideal for those lazy afternoons. On the flip side, it does have its quieter moments, which might leave you wanting a bit more energy in the air if you're in the mood for a proper knees-up. Plus, the opening times can be a bit fuzzy, and the online menu isn't as detailed as you'd hope, so you might need to ring ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or bite, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after that homely vibe without the hustle and bustle.

Pros and Cons

Cons
  • It can feel a tad quiet at times, which might not suit if you're after a buzzing, lively spot.
  • Opening hours aren't always crystal clear, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.
  • The menu details online are a bit sparse right now, which could make planning your visit trickier.

Food and staff were great, brunch was lovely. A little (too) quiet, but that is a personal opinion. Need a good breakfast with friendly service ? Don't hesitate.

Can only say that it was amazing here. Came on a wet Sunday in August when we walked in looking like drowned rats. They were so patient whilst we dried off and changed clothes in the toilets. But enough about us. So for a party of 10, I'll start off with the food. The starters were all of a good size. The calamari, though small, were plentiful and not overcooked with a nice chunky tartar sauce. The garlic bread was great, not overly oily, and just the right amount of garlic. The BBQ chicken wings were well-cooked and had the right amount of sauce. The only letdown was that there aren't any child starters but an adult's starters of nachos served them very well. The mains were all great as well. The pizzas again weren't greasy and came out piping hot. The ribs fell off the bone but, unfortunately, didn't come with any sides to accompany them. The seafood special is definitely a must and kept our picky pescatarian happy. The bacon and cheese beefburger was well put together and didn't fall all over the place as you can get. The children's mains were equally good. The kid's burger was like a mini version of the adults and the chicken bites were all that you could want for your little ones. When it can time to end the night and they brought out the cake that we had left there the day before to surprise my daughter, they lowered the lights and put music on for us whilst we sang Happy Birthday. For a small place that you could easily overlook.... DON'T. They will make you feel at home (even one of the regulars that came in after didn't bat an eyelid at us being there and joined in with our birthday singing) 😊

I arrived to this place by chance but what a nice surprise. Service feels homely and super kind. Food went above and beyond. My English breakfast was super nice, with the bacon and vegetables charcoal grilled... honestly a great twist to what I'm used to! Prices are reasonable for 2022. I cannot recommend this place more and will definitely come back.
