My wife and I stopped by Bella Italia at Xscape for a quick spot of lunch.
Despite there being quite a few large tables in, we were seated straight away and were looked after Rowan, one of the waiters on shift. Despite being super busy, flying here there and everywhere and looking after one of the large groups, Rowan was incredibly attentive, taking the time to make conversation with us, with a light-hearted conversational approach that made us feel really looked after.
My wife and I have both worked in hospitality, and so know first-hand how difficult it can be to remain positive and add all the frills of waiting-on when it’s busy. To Rowan, it came naturally. The fact he took the time to talk to us by making conversation, made us feel like although we were a small party, we were just as important as the larger groups.
Rowan clearly has a natural affinity for hospitality, and we knew within the first five minutes of speaking with him that we’d be looked after.
The service was quick and the food was great!
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bella Italia at Castleford to friends and family. Thank you, Rowan. You’re a star!

Bella Italia delivers a charming slice of Italy right to your table. With its cozy, rustic décor and friendly staff, the ambiance is perfect for a relaxed meal. Food was delicious! The carbonara was creamy, with a nice balance of cheese and pancetta, not overly heavy. The goat cheese pasta was the real standout though—rich, tangy filling with a tomato sauce that pulled it all together.
