About This Pub

Ah, Annie Maison – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its vibe, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food and drinks are a proper treat; think delicious brunches and cocktails that hit the spot, especially if you're into that bottomless option for a fun day out. It's got this lovely atmosphere where you can chill with a cuppa or ramp things up for a party feel, and it's clear some visits leave you buzzing with how welcoming it can be. But, let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing – I've heard a few tales of service that's a bit lacklustre, like staff not jumping in to help with seating or menus, which can put a dampener on things. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth popping in if you're in the area, just maybe keep your expectations in check for those little niggles and go on a day when the stars align. All in all, it's a decent spot for a pint and a bite, but like any good pub chat, it's the mix of highs and lows that makes it interesting!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food and cocktails are spot on – plenty of tasty options, especially for bottomless brunch, and it's a hit for vegetarians and vegans alike.
  • It's got a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up or a bit of weekend fun, with something to suit different moods.
  • When the service clicks, it's brilliant; some visits have had smiley and attentive staff who make the experience memorable.
Cons
  • Service can be hit or miss – a few folks have mentioned feeling overlooked, with staff seeming detached or uninterested at times.
  • The menu's a bit limited, which might disappoint if you're after a wide range of choices, especially early in the day.
  • There have been some recent grumbles about basic things like getting a menu or finding a seat without hassle.

My brunch experience was utterly disappointing. The waitresses couldn’t care less about customer service- completely detached and uninterested. I had to ask for a menu, then ask where to sit, and still got no help, as if we were a burden. The menu, just an hour after opening, was already missing ingredients. I ordered a smashed avocado bagel, but what came was a travesty: unripe avocado chunks, not smashed, a toasted bagel and butter on the side. It was like I had to make my own meal. We were one of only two tables- six people at the other, just us two- and it still took 40 minutes for food to arrive. Then, I had to wait for cutlery! Halfway through eating, our drinks finally showed up, and that’s where it got worse. My friend ordered a cocktail, and it was served with rotten mint leaves. I was disgusted and couldn’t help but question the kitchen’s hygiene if the staff had the audacity to serve visibly spoiled ingredients. On a quiet Sunday with barely any customers, this level of neglect is inexcusable. The staff were too busy with phone calls outside to care about serving us. Management needs to overhaul their staff because this service is a disaster for business. Save yourself the trouble—avoid this place at all costs.

Got a lot to say.. So let's just keep in mind that this kitchen/bar is in very Burton Centre. Me and my friend come in for brunch around 11am on Sunday morning. Only ground floor worked at that time. there was sitting like 6 people without us. Bartender didn't even offered us a Menu when we come to the bar ask for a table. I took it myself. We chose our meals and drinks. they didnt had salmon so my mate just ordered a smash avocado bagel. THEY opened an hour ago and didnt had Salmon in breakfast menu?!! Lets keep in mimd All of them 6 people been served when we just got in. SO we wait..10,20,30 mins. NO DRINKS. they bring in a meal for my mate only but no cutlery so we just admired this place for like next 5 mins and and waitress capability to do her job so unprofessional. so then the Bartender chucks on cutlery on a table. then my food gets delivered after nearly 40 mins of waiting. we still didnt get a drinks, half way to our food finally drinks gets delivered. couldnt even say it had any alcohol in it. pornstar martinis tasted more like multivit juice and my passionfruit mohijo the same just with rotten an expired mints. i was disguted. my mate was also. in total we paid 60£ for all this fancy brunch and we couldnt believe its real. my mate had to smash her avocado and put butter and avocado herself on the bagel. it wasnt owt what you wanna do paying money for to get the meals done and ready so as drinks. NEVER EVER AGAIN. DONT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

Don’t know where to start… from the food, to the drinks, passing through the team and the atmosphere, Annie Maison has become my go to place. It’s got something for all my moods. The perfect place to chill with a cuppa and breakfast or lunch, and the ideal lounge to party on the weekends, or even just have a few drinks with their delicious bottomless brunch! And with the new ownership has come sooo many events! From DJ nights to quiz and bingo evenings, there’s honestly something for everyone. Absolutely IN LOVE with Annie Maison. Oh, and did I mention the food and drinks are to die for?! And my bank account barely notices it to!

Great Bottomless Brunch here. Small menu choice for the Brunch but caters for vegetarian/vegan. We were very pleased with our meals, they were delicious. We tried lots of different cocktails and all were made to order and good. Our waitress Chloe was smiley and attentive throughout our visit. We were not rushed at all. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again.
