About This Pub

So, I was having a chat about Angel & Two Bibles the other day, and it's one of those places that really stands out in Belfast for cocktail enthusiasts. The drinks are a highlight – they're well-crafted with quality ingredients, and there's a nice mix of classics with creative twists that keep things interesting. The staff are an absolute treat too; they're clued up on everything from flavours to recommendations, making the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. That rooftop terrace is just the cherry on top for a bit of fresh air and good vibes. On the downside, a few mates mentioned that some cocktails don't quite deliver on the alcohol front, which can be a letdown if you're after something with more kick, and there was that odd billing error that soured the night for some. Plus, with it only being open twice a week, you'll have to plan ahead, and the lack of food means it's not ideal for a full evening out. All in all, it's a solid spot if you're in the mood for drinks and a chat, but it's worth going in with realistic expectations to enjoy the best bits.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The cocktails are absolutely spot on, with top-notch ingredients and a great variety that caters to all tastes.
  • The service is brilliant – the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and really make you feel at home.
  • It's got such a charming, intimate vibe with a hidden entrance and a lovely rooftop terrace that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up.
Cons
  • Some drinks can be a bit light on the alcohol, leaving you wondering if you've got a mocktail instead.
  • There have been a few mishaps with billing, like getting charged for extras that weren't ordered, even if they do apologise.
  • It's only open a couple of days a week, which makes it tricky to pop in spontaneously.
  • No food on the menu, so you might need to head elsewhere if you're after a bite with your drinks.

Cocktails are decent for Belfast. Quite often there's more juice than alcohol content to the point when you wonder if it was a mocktail. Where it started to go wrong was when we were charged for 7 drinks but only bought 6 - in fairness, there was a bit of an apology and a rearranged bill. However, getting in was a bit of a strange experience. 7 empty tables and more in other nooks, but initially, we were told that everything was booked - maybe, we didn't look 'cool' enough etc... It was another member of staff who allowed us the privilege of entering... The service was slow, but as I said, the cocktails were reasonable, so that offset the speed of service. Lastly, my wife accidentally left some cosmetics in the toilets, but when I contacted the bar, last week, I'm still waiting on any response from the bar, as there is no 'live' phone number to call... In truth, another customer could have taken the cosmetics, but a reply would be nice... For me, I won't be back, as an attitude to customers is never acceptable... it's Belfast, not New York...

we went on valentines, so it was an odd menu and i’ve never tasted a worse alcoholic beverage in my life. fairly sure it’s opinion based, the staff were kind and the outside area was beautiful, it’s a shame everyone out there was not enjoying their expensive drinks.

Cocktails were really well poured with the best ingredients at reasonable prices, the setting is excellent and the overall feel is 10/10. What dials this place up to 11 is the service. Every staff member knew what they were doing, knew the cocktails, the flavours, the differences between what they do and what the "classics" are and how to make it all come together. That's the secret sauce of this place and I'm delighted we came along and for the recommendations that they made. The only disappoint is that a classic gimlet is never going to cut it again. Thanks!

Super cool spot for a unique cocktail. Entrance is hidden in an alley just like all good speakeasies. Fantastic and unique ambience, cute little rooftop terrace, all the vibes are vibing. They don’t serve food but that’s because cocktails are the stars of the show!

If you love intimate spaces, and excellent craft cocktails this is the place for you. You could stay here forever. They have the new and the old. Their own recipes from their mixologist and twist on old classics. They have some thing for everyone with every spirit that you can imagine. The drinks are inventive and delicious. The presentation is phenomenal. You must have a reservation if you expect to spend a decent amount of time and they put limits on the tables as well. They do have an outdoor space for those of you who prefer it.
