About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about the Welcome Inn in Manchester – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, run by JW Lees, who's been brewing since 1828, so they've got the beer game down pat. From the reviews I've seen, the staff are absolute gems; they're all about making you feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or sorting out something special like a gathering. The atmosphere's spot on too – think lively chats and a down-to-earth crowd that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. It's got that family-friendly and dog-welcoming edge, especially in the beer garden, which is brilliant for a sunny afternoon. On the downside, it's not the most accessible place if mobility's an issue, and they skip on cask ales, which might leave some beer lovers wanting more variety. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind if you're planning a visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home, just like chatting with old mates
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere with down-to-earth locals and a real community vibe that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up
  • The beers are spot on, coming from Manchester's oldest brewery, JW Lees, with a good selection to enjoy
  • Dog-friendly spots like the beer garden add a lovely touch, making it easy to pop in with your four-legged friend
Cons
  • It's not wheelchair accessible, which could be a bit of a letdown for some folks wanting to join in
  • No cask ales on offer, so if that's your thing, you might find the beer choices a tad limited
