About This Pub
Ah, the Washington – it's one of those pubs in Blackpool that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks are raving about the food; it's hearty pub fare that's well-priced and hits all the right notes, especially with deals that make it easy on the wallet. The staff come across as genuinely friendly, always up for a chat and making sure you're sorted, which really adds to that relaxed, homely feel. Plus, with live sport on the telly and it being dog-friendly, it's a top spot for catching up with mates or enjoying a quiet pint near the seaside attractions. But let's keep it real – there are a couple of downsides; some have mentioned portions not being as generous as they'd like, and service can be hit or miss, depending on when you pop in. Also, it might benefit from a bit of TLC to freshen up the decor. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is spot on – think delicious pub grub like smothered chicken and chips that hit the spot, all at really affordable prices, like a full meal for two with drinks and dessert for around £30.
-
Staff are super friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home with their warm welcomes and quick service – it's like chatting with mates behind the bar.
-
It's got a great vibe overall, with a cosy atmosphere perfect for watching live sport on the big screen, and it's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry friend.
-
Loads of exciting deals and events going on, plus it's conveniently located near Blackpool's North Pier and Pleasure Beach, making it an easy stop for a pint and a bite.
Cons
-
Portions can be a bit on the small side sometimes, like with the chips, which might leave you wanting more after a meal.
-
Service isn't always top-notch; it can vary, with some visits feeling a tad rushed or not as attentive as you'd hope.
-
The place could do with a freshen-up here and there, like a bit of paint to spruce up the ambience and keep things looking inviting.

Me and my friend went today and we had smothered chicken and a gambling chips. Food was lovely. Staff was really friendly. Pub was nice. Had a really nice time. Would recommend definitely
Delicious pub style food at an amazing price, main, drink and dessert for around £30 for 2 people. Service was fast and friendly and food was great. Left happy and full.
What a warm and inviting welcome food was great and overall vibe was amazing…. Kim was great in attending to our needs… first class service will definitely be going back for another visit….A+
Great food and ambience. Very decent value. Pleasant staff. Only negative is it could do with a touch up of paint.
Used to love coming to the Washington for a few pints and some food and never complained, but came in today and ordered some chips with my food and I was disappointed on the potion of chips that I got! A small bowl of chips and service wasn't the best either! Staff used to come and give you knives and forks and gave you the sauces and say everything ok and now they just give you the food and forks and it wasn't even busy when we were in , don't think I would be back again, Sorry just being honest and hopefully they sort it out
