About This Pub
Ah, Walsall Brewers Fayre – it's one of those places that really grows on you once you step inside. I've got to say, the team there are absolute gems; they're so approachable and make you feel like you're catching up with old mates rather than just grabbing a bite. The breakfast is a standout – imagine unlimited cooked goodies and coffee that you can keep refilling, all for a fair price. And don't get me started on the carvery; it's got this brilliant array of sides and meats that are cooked just right, perfect for a Sunday roast feel any day of the week. Plus, with live sports on the telly and those budget-friendly lunch options, it's a ace choice for footie fans or anyone after a relaxed afternoon. On the flip side, though, there are moments when things aren't quite up to scratch – like when the pizzas show up uncut and you're left fumbling with a wee knife, or if you order something like the Thai curry and it ends up a bit underwhelming. The black pudding in the breakfast didn't wow me either, and the atmosphere can be a tad quiet when it's not buzzing. Overall, it's a solid pub for a get-together, but I'd suggest going in with realistic expectations and maybe checking the menu online first to pick your favourites. It's all about that balance, isn't it? You'll likely have a good time, especially if you focus on what they do best.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and great service that makes you feel right at home.
-
Their breakfast is a real winner – unlimited options including juicy poached eggs and a full continental spread, plus Costa coffee to boot.
-
The carvery is spot on, with a fantastic selection of veg, sides like mac and cheese, perfectly cooked meat, and those fresh Yorkshire puddings that are just divine.
-
They've got cracking deals like mains from £5 at lunchtime, and it's a brilliant spot to catch live football with good food and drinks in a relaxed setting.
-
Being right by the Walsall Canal adds a lovely touch, making it a great place for a casual meal or to unwind after a walk.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss, like pizzas arriving uncut with just a tiny knife, which isn't the easiest for tucking in.
-
Certain items fall short on flavour, such as the green Thai curry that was disappointingly bland, or the black pudding that didn't quite hit the mark.
-
There might be occasional slip-ups with food prep, like not having all breakfast options available, which could leave you wanting more variety.
-
While the atmosphere is generally cosy, it can get quiet at times, which might not suit everyone looking for a lively pub vibe.
-
Last orders and timings can vary, so it's worth checking in advance to avoid any disappointment if you're planning a late visit.

Recent Reviews
We ordered some pizzas for the kids, and my brother and I went for the mixed grill. The pizzas arrived uncut, and we were given a small potato peeler-style knife to cut them—not ideal. A proper pizza cutter would have made things much easier. The kids enjoyed their bottomless drinks, and overall, the food was standard—nothing memorable, but nothing to really complain about either.
Went in for breakfast with a good friend, and it was lovely. They only had scrambled eggs, but the management came out and asked if we wanted poached or fried,we both had poached, and they were done to perfection. 21.99 for two breakfasts, and you can go up as many times as you want, plus plenty to offer on the continental breakfast. Well done, Brewers Fayre. You didn't disappoint!
Had a vibrant vegan tomato soup that I enjoyed very much. My main however, the green Thai curry, was flavourless and disappointing. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and cozy.

Best carvery I've had in a while!
Great selection of veg and other sides such as Mac and Cheese and potato gratin.
The meat was cooked lovely and plenty of it!
Yorkshire puddings were straight out of the oven and sooo good!
As a table of 5, we all had the carvery and were all impressed.
Also had desserts and they were really good. We had caramel apple Betty, chocolate brownie and kids sundae.
Couple of things for improvement. There was a big queue at the bar to order food and drinks.
The furniture could do with a refresh.
Will definitely be returning for our next carvery.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good range of options on the unlimited cooked breakfast. You get unlimited juice and Costa coffee as well as anything from the continental breakfast buffet. I was very happy with everything on the cooked breakfast other than the black pudding. It could have done with being cooked for longer. Overall, it was a good breakfast and I will happily eat there again.
