About This Pub
Ah, Two Chimneys – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, tucked away on the edge of Letchworth, where you can pop in for a pint or a bite without any fuss. From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at ease, and the food's a real treat, especially with those wallet-friendly deals that let you tuck into some hearty dishes without breaking the bank. The beer garden's a gem for lazy afternoons, and it's brilliant if you're with the dog or the little ones, offering that welcoming, community vibe with clean spaces and even the odd fundraising event to get involved in. On the flip side, though, it's not perfect – some have mentioned running into issues with limited veggie choices or meals not being as advertised, and there've been times when the service fell a bit flat, like with a manager who didn't quite handle things with the care you'd hope. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together, but keep those expectations in check for a balanced experience; you'd probably have a great time if you're up for some good food and drinks, just maybe double-check the menu if you've got specific tastes.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, like chatting with old mates – Harrison and others really make you feel at home.
-
The food is spot on, with fresh, brilliant dishes that hit the spot, especially with those great deals like 'Tuck in for a tenner'.
-
It's super dog-friendly, which is a real bonus if you're out with your furry friend; makes for a relaxed vibe.
-
The beer garden is a winner on sunny days, plenty of space to enjoy a cold pint and soak up the atmosphere.
-
It's family-oriented with nice facilities, clean surroundings, and even events like fundraising that add a community feel.
Cons
-
Some veggie options can be hit or miss, with a few dishes not available, which might leave you a bit disappointed if that's your go-to.
-
Service isn't always top-notch; had a report of a manager being a tad rude and not very helpful when things went wrong.
-
Kids' meal deals aren't as straightforward as they seem on the menu, which could catch you out if you're planning a family outing.

Came to the two chimneys today. We visit once a month ish. Today we meet our lovely server Harrison. Harrison was an amazing server and very friendly. The food was brilliant and very fresh. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to come back again
Often find ourselves popping in here for a nice relaxing drink and/or meal recently. Me & my partner often have the dog with us & she loves it too! We feel very welcome with her which has been tricky in the past & other pubs as she is a Rottweiler & often people are nervous of her. But she has been treated so well by the staff here - especially Joel! She adores him & looks out for him as he'll often come and see her during our visit.
Very easy to order food & drink from the table using your phone & it always arrives to us in good time & well presented. Never had an issue & always so happy to return. The fact we feel so welcome with our dog, Lily makes all the difference!
Half the veggie meal options were not available. The £1 kids meal does not include the “larger kids meals”, which is not on the menu.
When we went to order, we had the manager. He was very rude, not apologetic at all. Did not seem to care or offer alternative options. Maybe it’s because it’s a bank holiday and he doesn’t want to be at work, but we are paying customers and his customer service was doodoo. No smile, no friendly hello. Little things like, we had 2 diet cokes and 1 full fat, didn’t tell us which was which or anything like that. Heard us ask for the receipt and didn’t give us the receipt or anything. Very abrupt. Menu should be reworded/made clearer.
There was a lovely younger lady who was very attentive, came out and told us our food had been brought to the table, very smiley, very friendly. Also the young man who took us to our table. Essentially everyone other than the manager was really lovely.
The food was average, just what you would expect. My plate looked dirty but it was from my own food so didn’t complain.
£43 for veggie lasagne, larger kids meal, fish and chips, large platter combo for 2 and 4 drinks.
Spent a nice sunny afternoon at the pub and grabbed some food too.
Pub has a large south facing garden with loads of benches to sit and enjoy a cold drink, it's big enough to have an area for the kids to play but there's only a small football goal.
Pub has loads of inside seating both in a bar area and a dinning area.
Has a good.menu with plenty of choice food is a normal chain style food all the dishes the four of us had were good, I had a sloppy Joe's, bit of a large portion for me!
Good for a stop on a sunny day if you are passing
I was very happy to see fundraising for Mac Millan. I couldn’t eat the cakes but bought tombola tickets and was delighted to win the raffle 🥳
Friendly staff and clean and comfortable premises
