You know, when I think about The Platform, it's got that real community feel that makes you want to pop in for a pint and a chat. The team there are absolute stars – always friendly and on hand to sort you out, which really lifts the whole experience. I love the little extras, like the book corner where you can lose yourself for a bit, and it's spotlessly clean, so you feel right at home. The beers are top-notch, and the prices are fair enough that you won't mind treating yourself to a few. On the downside, though, the menu's not as varied as you'd hope, and I've heard a few tales of things being unavailable or not up to scratch, like that vegan curry fiasco or a steak that didn't quite hit the mark. It can leave you a tad disappointed if you're after a proper meal. The vegan katsu curry sauce was unavailable, and the suggested alternative was also out of stock. To make matters worse, the replacement option they offered was more expensive. In the end, I cancelled my order altogether. A frustrating and poorly managed experience.

First time in this pub/restaurant clean, comfy and the staff were helpful, was a bit disappointed food wise though, it was a very limited menu, and a few things I wanted weren't available so went for the rump steak with a mushroom sauce and fries, steak was relatively ok although was a tad under done for my liking possibly due to being a pretty thick piece, the chilli cheese bites were nice though, hot and tasty with the cheese still melted, all in all not too bad for what is pretty much, pub grub

My favourite place to come, the service is the best, I always get a friendly welcome and the team are ever so kind. Especially Jade and Stu, and congrats to Danielle on her new baby. Great beer and I'm looking forward to enjoying the cricket here.

We popped into The Platform on Christmas Eve for a cheeky meal and drink. The food and drink is reasonably priced, both meals fish and chips, and hunters chicken were big portions tasty, severed by very friendly staff. We both liked the book corner, also a children corner with various books and games. We will be visiting this very pleasant pub again.
