About This Pub
Ah, the Tollgate in Manchester – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, doesn't it? From what I've gathered from folks who've been, it's got this infectious energy, particularly buzzing before a big game, where you can dive into the excitement with a crowd of like-minded fans. The drinks are spot on and won't set you back much, and the staff are genuinely chuffed to see you, offering that quick, cheerful service that makes popping in a real treat. It's even welcoming to dogs, which is a nice touch for those of us who like to bring the family along. On the flip side, the facilities aren't quite up to the mark – they can be a bit worn out, if I'm honest – and it does get packed during peak times, so you might end up jostling for space. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a good time without breaking the bank, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after that authentic pub experience with a bit of heart.

Cons
-
The facilities, like the toilets, can be a bit on the rough side, which might put you off if you're after something more polished.

Amazing local! Cheap pints, United fans, friendly staff, and occasionally a guy who will sell you stolen tesco steaks for £1.50
Friendliest pub in Manchester! Stumbled across this place by accident and didn’t expect much but walked in to the warmest welcome. Very dog friendly which is always a plus. Will definitely be back.
Simply the best pub for home supporters to go before the Utd games. The place is rocking with a decent selection of drinks and quick friendly service. If you are going to any event at the football or cricket ground I would give this place a go!
Called in a few hours before home game . The atmosphere was pretty lively, everyone was thoroughly enjoying the craic...The service was fairly good , didn't spend too long at the bar waiting for drink, so would say the management did well in this respect. Hope to be here back again in the near future....its a must visit a few hours before the game for the atmosphere & the songs ...Really sets the tone before heading down to the stadium. 👍💚☘️💚⚽️😎
A must prematch. Sure there are other places but this is a proper sing song so if you want to learn a few new ones, go here. Beer is decently priced, nothing silly. Washrooms are a bit rough but what do you expect.
