About This Pub

Ah, the Three Legged Stool in Worksop – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered, it's all about that relaxed, friendly atmosphere with a fresh modern twist after its big refurb a few years back. The food really stands out; folks rave about the homemade dishes using local ingredients, and deals like two meals for £15 make it brilliant for a budget-friendly night out. The staff sound like absolute stars, always polite and ready to sort you out, even if you're a bit picky with your order. It's got everything from hearty Sunday roasts to fun events like quiz nights and summer fun days, which would make for a great evening with friends. But, fair's fair, there was that one review moaning about a rubbish Christmas dinner with undercooked veg and a dry pud – ouch, that must've been a letdown. Still, with most reviews being spot-on positive and an overall rating of 4 out of 5, I'd say it's worth a punt. Just keep an eye on the opening times, as it might not always be straightforward, and you'll likely have a top time swapping stories over a pint and a plate of something tasty.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh local ingredients making every dish feel homemade and hearty – I loved the steak and ale pie mentioned in the reviews!
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, polite, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, like when they customised a meal for a fussy eater.
  • It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with a modern refurbishment – think light oak floors and comfy furniture that makes it a great spot for a casual catch-up.
  • Plenty of great deals and events, such as two meals for £15 or fun quiz nights, which add real value and keep things lively without breaking the bank.
  • They offer a wide range of drinks, from cask ales to wines from around the world, perfect for enjoying with mates after a long week.
Cons
  • There was one disappointing experience with a Christmas dinner that had undercooked vegetables and a dry pudding, which left a bit of a sour taste – not ideal for a special occasion.
  • Based on the reviews, it seems like quality might vary occasionally, so it's worth checking in advance if you're going for something specific.
  • The place is listed as 'close' in status, which could mean it's not always open when expected, so double-check the hours to avoid any surprises.

Nice clean and well presented. Black and blue burger with 2 large onion rings and a small basket of fries came in a brioche bun with a bit of salad.

POOR Christmas dinner yesterday 😢 The starter was ok but the main had undercooked vegetables one Brussels sprout, The gravy looked like warm brown water, Roasted potatoes were very oily, not crisp. The Christmas pudding was very dry with little custard I had to ask for more. All this for £60 ahead Photos to follow make your own mind up ......
