About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Ashley Hotel with its Wacky Warehouse – it's such a lively spot in Worksop, ideal for a relaxed family get-together. I love how it's set up with all these brilliant play zones where kids can climb, slide, and bounce to their heart's content, and it's all at a price that won't break the bank. The staff really make it special; they're so welcoming and on hand to sort out any queries, which adds to that warm, homely feel. Plus, with options like play passes and party deals, it's dead easy to pop in regularly without it costing a fortune. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of frustration, like when they run out of popular food items and don't offer much in the way of alternatives, or when the heating decides to play up and leaves everything a bit nippy. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.5, it's clear most people have a whale of a time, but it's worth keeping those little issues in mind if you're planning a visit – just go in with realistic expectations, and you'll likely have a cracking day out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a fantastic spot for families, with loads of indoor and outdoor play areas that keep the little ones entertained for hours.
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always polite, welcoming, and ready to help, making it feel like a proper friendly outing.
  • Entry is really affordable, with free access for adults and babies under 12 months, plus great value options like play passes and party packages.
  • The food is generally tasty and comes out quickly, and it's all at an inexpensive price, perfect for a budget-friendly day out.
  • They've got top-notch facilities like a car park, disabled access, and even WiFi, so it's easy and comfortable to visit.
Cons
  • There can be issues with stock, like running out of certain ingredients or desserts, which might leave you disappointed if you're after something specific.
  • Some visits have been marred by the place feeling too cold, with heating problems that make it uncomfortable, especially on chillier days.
  • Service isn't always spot-on, as a few folks have mentioned inconsistencies, like not getting substitutions for missing items, which can put a dampener on things.
  • While it's generally good value, the overall experience might vary, with some reports of it not living up to expectations on busier times.

Tried here for the first time last week. I should have gotten onions and peppers on my dish and so should my daughter on hers. We got told that they'd ran out but we didn't get anything extra in their place! Then when I ordered the New Alaskan Trifle. I got told that there wasnt any left and would I like some raspberry with custard. I said " No, i only fancied the one that I ordered, the waitress then said. " I'll go and see if we've got any" 🤷‍♀️...ummm, but I thought you told me that there wasn't any left! So basically, they couldn't be arsed to take another one out of the freezer. First and last time!

Came here for our friends children(s) birthday party and if it wasn't for the company of friends and the fact that the kids has a good time, it wouldn't be two stars. The entire room was freezing with zero heating throughout the entire visit. All the adults were in thick jumpers or coats throughout, including myself and I was cold even with my coat on. My fella gets warm pretty easily and he even he said he was cold. Despite my friend paying full price, party games weren't included because there was another party straight after and we were basically rushed out the door. I'm thankful that none of the kids were lactose/dairy intolerant because instead of jelly as ordered, the member of staff brought out ice cream. The disabled toilet had no accessible toilet paper, but instead it was left on top of the toilet itself which a disabled person would not be able to access at all. We ordered food, including the onion stack which cost over £5 and they were all soggy so most of those were left. The couple next to us wanted to order food to take away but despite being a pub, they didn't offer takeaway boxes etc of any kind. The staff were practically useless, not even knowing who's birthday party it was, asking other children if it was theirs etcetera. As stated, if it wasn't the company of friends and this was my party for my kids I had arranged I would frankly be hugely disappointed.

The staff here are amazing. So welcoming and so child friendly. We didn’t even go into the whacky warehouse as didn’t have time so even in the main part it’s very child friendly. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Our new favourite cheap eat spot!

Fantastic play centre, very good value for money. Love the fact they have a monthly or 6 monthly pass. Kids loved the climbing frame as well as us adults. The guy who runs I was really helpful and answer our queries. Food was nice, hot and very quick to come out. Definitely recommend and will come again soon.
