About This Pub

Ah, The White Swan, it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely atmosphere where the staff go above and beyond – think helpful smiles and making sure everything's just right, whether you're popping in for a massive Sunday roast or celebrating a big birthday. The food sounds brilliant; fresh as can be, served hot with generous portions that could feed a small army, and it's perfect for groups with options like roasts that everyone raves about. Plus, if you're staying nearby, the rooms are comfy and they've got some decent real ale to wash it all down. On the flip side, though, their website's playing up and you can't get to it, which is a shame when you're trying to plan ahead, and there's no straightforward info on when they're open, so you might have to give them a ring first. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out, with plenty of positives that outweigh the niggles, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in Leeds and fancy a proper, homely pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always so helpful and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is spot on; fresh, piping hot, and with massive portions that leave you stuffed, especially their Sunday roasts with big Yorkshire puds and loads of veg.
  • It's a fantastic spot for special occasions, like birthdays, with great service and even room for big groups, making events memorable and fun.
  • If you're staying over, the rooms are comfortable with nice showers, and they've got some cracking real ale on tap for a proper pub experience.
Cons
  • The website's a bit of a letdown – it's not accessible right now, which makes it tricky to check menus or hours before heading out.
  • There's no clear info on operating hours, so you might end up turning up when it's not open, which could be a bit frustrating.
  • The business status seems a tad unclear, listed as closed, but given the recent rave reviews, it might just be a temporary thing – still, it's worth double-checking.

We went for Sunday Lunch 3 adults 1 child. The staff are amazing. So helpful. The food is so fresh & hot. 2 of us had Sunday Roast chicken and 1 Roast Pork. The portions are massive. You get a big Yorkshire Pud roasted whole carrot roast parsnip leeks 4 big roast potatoes. We ordered cauliflower cheese and a side of pigs in blankets. Fantastic gravy. All served hot which is important. My granddaughter had chicken nuggets chips and beans. We all initially said no to pudding then came the menu. So much to choose from 1 got Hot Dubai Cookie 1 Sticky toffee pudding with lots of custard (& 2 spoons) and 1 Salted toffee cheesecake. We all waddled out of there. Such great value for money was really busy but the staff work so hard. Highly highly recommend The White Swan. Thank you

We have been coming to this place for years but I have to credit the current staff for our fantastic Sunday dinner. It was huge and very well done. Our pork was so soft Complement to the kitchen 👍

5 stars to the team at the White Swan in Yeadon for making my Dad’s 80th birthday such a memorable event 🥳👏🏻👏🏻. The room looked amazing, service was great and buffet went down a treat. But more importantly, my Dad had a blast - which was all that mattered. 🥰 Thanks again White Swan! 😊

We stayed for one night as we were flying from Leeds Bradford Airport, just under one mile away. The room was lovely, comfortable with a pleasant shower room. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner and some good real ale. Would definitely stay here again.

Celebrated my dad's 80th birthday here as its his favourite place. He's been poorly for a while, the owner and all the staff greeted him like a friend, it was so lovely. There was 16 of us and a long table set up in the snug was perfect. The food was brought out piping hot all at the same time and it was absolutely delicious. All 16 of us said how fantastic it was and we'll go back again. Thanks to Helen and your lovely team x
