About This Pub

Ah, The Stone Trough in Rawdon, Leeds – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot when you're after a proper, no-fuss evening out. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, which is always a treat after a long day. The food stands out as a highlight; whether it's the classic pub dishes, those tempting fixed-price menus, or a stellar Sunday roast, it's clear they've got the recipes down pat – and at an inexpensive price, too, which makes it even better value. It's got that cosy, fireside charm that makes you want to linger over a drink, and with a good selection of ales and other tipples, you're spoilt for choice. On the flip side, it does get packed, especially on busy days like Father's Day, so you might end up waiting a bit for your meal, but honestly, from the sounds of it, the wait's worth it once that plate arrives. Overall, it's a solid spot for families or a catch-up with friends, and I'd say it's one to keep in mind if you're in the area – just pop in early to avoid the rush!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious pub classics, hearty Sunday roasts, and even options for vegetarians and vegans, all at a great price
  • It's a proper cosy spot with crackling fireplaces, perfect for relaxing with a pint or catching up with mates
  • Loads of drink choices, from award-winning cask ales to wines and cocktails, so there's something for everyone
  • Family-friendly vibe means it's great for a meal out with the kids, without any fuss
Cons
  • It can get a bit busy at times, leading to waits for food that might feel a tad longer than you'd hope, even if the end result is worth it

Came for Father’s Day, first time coming. It was packed and there were loads of really friendly staff on hand, we weren’t waiting long at all either. Great food and a family friendly atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely meal, we’ll be back!

Came In today on my way back home from the airport and had the haddock and chips with a side of curry sauce. The fish was absolutely beautiful. Really nice piece of fish cooked to perfection. Service brilliant. Better than murgatroyds up the road and a lot cheaper 😁

Excellent meal here. We have been before & will no doubt come again. Wait for food from ordering was a little longer than we would have liked, however, the food was fantastic when it did 👍
